When the sun slides down the sky
And the birds start to fly
South to the warmth
Of far off climbes
We see the light shine
Low in the sky
Piercing the leaves
As they yellow and fade.
Fruits are ripening
Apples wind falling
Garden spiders shimmering
In sunlight and cold rain.
Cats seem to be a theme in my sketchbook at the moment.
I love cats
Their eyes
Their whiskers
The shapes they make
The fun they create
Bouncing and pouncing
Bounding and jumping
Faces all furry
Twisting and whirling
They cheer my soul!
Another filter
Another day
Another drawing
With which to play.
Some of them work
Some of them don’t
But without trying?
You never learn nowt!
(Nowt in The UK is slang for nothing)….
Autumn comes round
every year
the leaves change colour
from green to golds
and reds and yellows.
Falling in ragged heaps.
My mind is swirling
Bits gang up against each other
Jumbled and shaken
Flying in different directions
One day I feel OK.
The next, confused and sad
So I draw and doodle
Sketch and map my mind
I will keep going
And see what I find….
Light under trees
Leaves fluttering in breeze
Grey blue above
Green grey below
the colour of doves
Space that is hollow
A cathedral of branches
Light into it lances
Startling nature
Human hands stature
Creating an arched void
Where you can hide.
We were never one
But we were together
You and me
Sharing one space.
We were dressed the same
Identically unidentical
Called fraternal –
Really sororal
Now you are gone.
One half disappears
The other must go on.
Apart, forever.
Parted.
Eyes part closed
He looks up
Cat smile
On his face
He’s had his tea
Now he wants love
Tickle his ears
Rub his nose
Listen to him purr
Black and white fur
My happy cat.
Spent two hours
Got one line!
Mathematic brain?
Just not mine!
I don’t know what
To do to get
Nine to one
And every set
Of numbered squares
I am in debt
They won’t add up
And thats my bet!

Bright orb
Orbiting Earth
Earth shine
Shining strong
Strongly believe
Believe me
