Pink green and white
Garden delight
Found on our walk
Flowers on their stalk
Intermingled pink and green
And white, glowing, clean
Really bad poem?
Better get going!

I decided to write a verse
Which might seem rather perverse..
I'm learning the ropes
For knowledge I grope.

And I might need a mediator?
It's like very heavy rain
It can be an absolute pain!
Storm clouds gather
I'm in a lather
Maybe I should write this again?
Is there anything at all to gain.....

Along the pier
Walk out to Sea
Across the tide
My life to be?
An old man thinks
Of times gone by
Boyhood days
Of gulls and skies.
Of storms and fog
Waves rolling high.
A girl goes skipping
The length of the pier
In the arcades
Candy floss, she cheers.
A woman now
Looks back in time.
Worm eaten memories
Are lost in rhyme.
From young to old
Each person’s regrets
Are tied together
In their own nets.
Sea and sand
Cliffs and rock
All remembered
As the gulls flock.

Here we go!
Time to sow!
Flowers and veg
A new hedge?
Plant with love
Rain from above
Fresh green shoot
Of leaves that sprout.
Growing happily now?
If we don’t have some snow!

Gnarley trees in the graveyard
Stand and wave hello
We walked beneath their boughs today
Watching them slowly grow.
Allowed to reach maturity
Their girth spreading wide,
Leaves will be opening soon
Bringing them back to life.
Spring and Easter come again,
The end of winter strife.

Come on cat
Come on in
It’s blowing a gale
And raining hail
A storm is coming
And you’re outside
I’ve called your name
But instead you hide!
Come on in cat
Don’t be shy
There’s food here for you
Through the storm, fly
Run in now
Listen to my call
Don’t stay out
Through the heavy rain fall!
Come in
Be comfy
Stay a while
Be warm and happy
Prodigal feline in style.

Red sky in the morning,
Shepherds warning?
See the sky
Roses in your eye.
Now its dawn
New day is born..
Pink to blue
Purple hues too
Twigs and branches
Spring approaches.
Sun or rain
Brings green again….
Back to sleep
In bed I’ll keep
Until full sun
And sunrise is done…

Drink mulled cider
Dance and turn
beat the apple bough
Sing and burn
Fires to fight
And defeat the dark
Bring good fortune
To the bark.
Wassail the folk
Who sing in praise
A happy new year
And prosperity raise.
Remembered wassail
But not this time
Socially distanced
Won’t be the same.

There once was a man in the moon
Who wove a big rug on a loom
With stars and with craters
Where he planted his ‘taters
In moon dust they met their doom!

Cold and grey, day
Not got much to say..
Yet,
Grey as it can get?
You bet.
Till tonight’s sunset?
Maybe
We will see
Unless the sun does shine
Fine.
Then happiness will be mine.
So clouds roll away please,
Give us warmth and ease
Some pleasure we can seize
Till we can visit seas
And oceans.
Give us notions
Of calm and peace
Please.
