Abstract pattern. Is less more? Or can convoluted shapes be fabulous? It’s all about balance, nuance, things can still be beautiful even when they are strange. Pleasing to the eye. Artrage app and textures from photodirector. Simple and yet complex.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I’m playing an Imp in the Penkhull Mystery Play, I have one line (and a few more as the narrator). It’s not obvious I’m an Imp, I just have to shout out “my name is Jakobah” , push a rock across a cave mouth. Then shout “goodbye”. There were more lines but they were cut because the play was originally one and a half hours long so it had to be edited. Maybe this is another case of measure twice, cut once! Anyway I hope to do so some more painting later x

Every week Esther Chilton gives us a challenge to use a list of words and write a set number of words..
This week’s is 55 words including :
Morning on the reef. A yellow crab skittered through the labyrinth of coral. It was headed to its feeding ground on the other side of the bay. But the cruel sea washed over and soaked everything in a deluge. Waves like great wheels curved up and back. In a moment the crab was washed away.
Describe one of your favorite moments.
One of my favourite moments is collecting my hanging baskets from a local nursery. Today (yesterday now) I did that. It was my birthday treat. I ordered 6 this year instead of 8 so I bought some extra plants for the walls and ground. I was really pleased with them. Luckily my sister was over for a visit so she helped me hang them. And that was a favourite moment.

Just playing with filters
Cats almost fade
Like lighting for a play
A theatrical act.
Or are they going to play games
Chase each other
Into the shadows
Curl up and sleep
Settle down?
Blue for calm
Blue for peace.

The world watches
ICE tendrils grip my heart
I could never visit this place
Antipathy to dictatorship
Not allowed now.
Colour matters
And causes fear and loathing.
Even the first settlers are abused.
Arrived before Europeans
And yet told to leave?
How many generations
Before you are allowed to stay?
All Glory to the Presiclown…?
No way.
If humans had taglines, what would yours be?
Artistic Cat lover?

First I had to ask Google what a tagine was!
A tagline is a short, catchy phrase or memorable sentence that encapsulates the essence of a brand or product. It’s often used in advertising and marketing to convey the key benefits or message associated with the brand, helping to create brand awareness and recognition. Think of it as the brand’s verbal logo, simple, memorable, and impactful.
Key features of a tagline:
Well I’m not a commercial business. I don’t think I’d personally like a tagline. But Artistic Cat lover sort of fits the bill. Both of these things have been part of my life for almost all of my existence. I’m not promising anything, I’m not selling anything, and I hope what I’m saying makes sense. X

Wish I’d taken a “before” photo. In the past my back yard would have already been a riot of colour. But age and infirmity have made it difficult to get out there and garden.
But my kind friends Lin and Twiggy came round and gave me a couple of hours of their time. Weeds removed, pots emptied ivy cut back, apple tree tied onto the fence. It’s still in need of sorting but it’s getting there!
Might be done in a couple of weeks all being well. Me? I’m knackered!

After a few hectic days I was going to do more today, but after messing about trying to get a parking space at the hospital early this morning so I could get a blood test, I came home and collapsed in a heap (metaphorically not literally). I’m OK.
Just shattered. I’d got wet in heavy rain and I hadn’t taken a raincoat, so I was soaked. I wanted to warm up because I was shivering.
I’m trying to save on heating costs so I didn’t put it on. But I relented tonight and switched on my electric heater.
Basically I ended up nodding off and napping a few times. I sat in front of my television and watched a few programmes which merged into each other.
Basically that was my day off.

I say hello to him every day
His eyes twinkle and smile
He was my green man
Now sadly gone.
