Drawing flowers for a border.

sketch-1588435527385 I just drew these flowers, then tried to position them as borders for the edge of a page. The thing wasn’t working so I added blank pages to make it more of a border. I’d taken a photo of the drawing so there was shadow on the paper. I made a bit of a mess trying to use an airbrush tool on it, so there are some areas which are a bit to shady round the flowers. Then I decided to see how I could use it for a poem, so I wrote it line by line. Positioning each line in turn.

It’s not brilliant, but it’s not something I’ve done before.

And the food is in your bowl.

Disco ball

I shone a bright torch on our disco ball (yes I’ve got one) took a photo, then another one with the torch on a lower power. Duplicated the photos, and ended up with a couple of interesting pictures that are quite abstract…..

Playing with shapes and light is fun.

Experimental things teach you

How to make new things.

If you don’t try,

You never learn….

Dancing at a barn dance,

putting up an exhibition,

displaying art on my craft stall.

Walking along the canal,

cycling through the countryside,

taking tea at a posh teashop.

Visiting a castle,

looking out to sea,

feeling the wind in my hair.

I’m glad I’m not

suffering from hunger,

hiding from bombs,

frightened and missing my family.

Too poor to buy medicine,

and all the time oppressed.

I may wish for things,

but I’m lucky to have things.

Cat

Why can’t you look at me?

why won’t you stay still,

always moving,

except when you sleep….

Even then you chase mice.

feet flailing,

galloping across dreaming gardens,

or hazy, cobwebbed fields.

Cat, statuesque,

gorgeous, flexible, strong,

you won’t keep still

and be drawn.

I’m tired

A bit lonely,

I have company,

But it isn’t easy.

I should ring you

I should speak,

But I hesitate,

I wait.

And all alone,

But yet, together,

My mind is caught,

My brain is baffled.

My shoulders tight.

I am alone,

In the end,

All alone.

Lonely.

I ache

The world is growing fast

But I ache

More things to do,

I ache..

Plants to tend and pot up.

I hurt.

Too much tending,

Too much weeding,

Too much trimming and pruning.

Using sinews I forgot I had.

Back aches,

Shoulder aches.

Hands hurt.

Don’t overdo things?

After years of neglect

My garden is being manicured,

And I ache.

Arching branches across the water

Filtering sunlight

Reflecting green and brown and grey.

Sunlight shimmers off the surface,

Cutting through you view,

Scattering rays

Branches fathomed in deep waters.

Silenced birds

Hidden tangles.

Trees trapped and caged,

Then all at once.

Release.

The sky, bright blue.

Clouds of cherry blossom

float above the ground,

tied down to branches,

so they don’t soar up,

creating pink and white billows,

high up in the cerulean sky.

Blossoming petals,

snowing down in the breeze,

landing on soil and paths,

scattered by the breeze.

Cotton candy flowers,

nourishing the bees.

The cat sat in the box.

Not on a mat,

or in a hat,

not on a roof

or under a hoof.

Not in a car

or on top of a door.

Not up the stairs

or on the chairs.

But in a box

where it lived,

or died.

It was Schrodingers

purring..
