Feeling cold.
It’s warming up soon
But had the heating on
Too much.
Bills due soon
Too soon
Yeah well
You have to survive
Don’t you?
Winter to Spring
Frosty sunsets
Will turn mild.

What way do I go?
Left or right, don’t know
The path of life ain’t straight
It tangles round my feet
Like the lyrics of a song
Don’t know it’s length, how long?
I’ll be upon this earth
But I hope it’s full of mirth!
Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

Ultimately I’d be a cat because I know them the best. I might have chosen tortoises, goldfish and stick insects, all animals I had as a child. But cars have been with me in one way or another for over 40 years (not the same one obviously).
Cats are loving, so am I,
Cats love sleeping, me too
Cats like playing, yeah to some extent
Cats like eating, no argument there….
Cats are graceful, well I can’t compete with them!
Where would you go on a shopping spree?
I’d buy more flowers
Bushes or trees
Filling the borders
Cheering for me!
I’d fill up my car
With baskets of bulbs
Glorious fruits
Perennials and shrubs
With a few new tools.
To complete the spree!

On my lap
Looking sweet
Purring happily
He looks so neat
Black and white
13 year old friend
He keeps me company
My heart he mends.
One day my joy
Will come to an end
I’ll be very sad,
my heart will rend.
Acrylic on canvas.

Little tabby cat lies on a box,
Sleeping with many purrs.
Paw hanging above books,
Resting on my easel
I carefully add whiskers
Tabby stripes match my mug
Showing through the stand
Last flecks of fur
And the panting
Is finished.

Going downstairs?
Mind the cat!
Black on dark grey
Only a band of white
Saves me from standing on him
He sleeps on one side
Of a step
Leaving the other half
For my feet.
He doesn’t want to move
Only shifting
Reluctantly.
Each morning I get
safely downstairs
I feel relieved

Primrose, daffodils, forget me nots,
Bring me riots of flowers
Cascading colours
Twining stems and leaves,
Blue skies, warm breezes
Am I too optimistic?
Freezing wind,
The sun has set,
Constant chill
Freezes my bones.
Must go out
Need extra clothes
Full sleeves
Gloves and hat
Where’s my scarf
When I need it.

6 months ago the leaves
Held onto the trees
Fluttered in the breeze
Warm and gentle
Only slightly crisped
By cold winds and frosts
Halfway round the sun
The light slowly faded
Cold winds decended
Now the grey gloom remains
The sun visited us today
For half an hour
But still…….
Halfway round the sun
Spring is coming….
