New paintings and regular art updates.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was sour. I decided to draw sour sweets but couldn’t find an image I liked. So I decided to cut up some sparkly ribbon into pieces and then added shadows. Maybe not my best idea….

I don’t have the Omicron version of Covid, I did a lateral flow test. But things are getting to me. Mentally I feel run down, fed up, worried, scared even. I don’t want to go out or see people. I missed a few things recently because I’m keeping myself to myself. But I know I’m getting worse. Recent health issues have made me feel more isolated and it’s almost too easy to hide away. Seeing people walking round shops without masks also puts me off….
I will wait and see what happens, but I do think that old addage about discretion is the better part of valour (is that right) might be the phrase that describes how I feel.

Furry and fluffy
Funny and cute
Eats all the biscuits
Steals all the loot
Cunning and sneaky
I call him beaky
Gets his nose quickly
Into deep sleep.

One of my little paintings has been reserved. It might be a Christmas present for someone? It’s pleasing to think someone likes it enough to buy it. I must think of new things to paint. Whether to do mythical images again, like green men? I don’t know. I’ve got lots of canvases to fill. I’m not making much money out of them but at least it’s a small success.

Go to bed
Lie down
Stay awake
Close your eyes
Calm your thoughts
Calm them again
Think of something else
Reinvent the wheel
Remember another problem
Count sheep….
Count goats
Daylight
Dawn…
Sleep….
Wake up after three hours
Repeat…..

My mind in confusion! We had a power failure and my Wi-Fi connection was lost. OK fine….. I found the router… But what was my password? Where was it? Not on the router… Oh god! Where had I written it down? I am one of these people that has a different password for EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE. I don’t even use the same words with different numbers, and I knew it was a series of upper and lower case letters plus numbers. I really needed to find it. But being super sneaky I had half in one place and the other half somewhere else! Argh… Two hours later! Recombined it in the right order. Back on line. Now to re set my alarm clock. That should be easier!

One of my old digital drawings on a now defunct website called Sketchfu. I drew it when the Lord of the Rings came out. I have forgotten the actor who played him although I know Orlando Bloom played Legolas. I know the actor also played a long distance horse rider in a film about a horse that races over the Sahara. The horse wasn’t pure blood but one of Americas wild mustang horses. I can’t remember the film name! My memory is getting full of holes….

We walked round the lake and saw the sky turning pink. The glow spread across the surface of the lake but didn’t develop further. Ten minutes later as we drove home, the sun peeped out from undet the clouds. I couldn’t stop but saw the sky turning dark grey in front of me and the sun reflected in my rear view mirror. I hoped to drive towards a rainbow but as the rain started to fall the sun hid itself behind the clouds again. Went howm to a hot decaff coffee and a mince pie!

You can’t see much-
But he’s in there!
Hidden and snug
Illusory emptiness
From his black hair
Turned up exposure
Won’t give him away
Snug and hidden
He’ll sleep all day!
