November birthday bash
Thai at Sawadee
Seafood platter
Noodles and rice
Beansprouts aplenty
Delicious and nice.
Too many gin and tonics
Made me giddy
Now replete and happy
Homeward bound and tipsy
New paintings and regular art updates.

So sweet. Relaxed
This cats curves
Are sinuous
Soft and smooth
Warm and curled
snuggled
Happy, cuddled.

Growling like a wolf
This leaf fell
Onto hard paving
Slabs of grey
Worn and cracked
Struggling to rise again
In a swirling breeze
Like an ice skater
Or a ballet dancer,
Pirouetting
In tight circles
Plummeting suddenly
Down and dead.

Far away – spy
Daylight moon fly
Pale blue and white
Clouds billow out
Craters are hidden
Mares unbidden
Lie in bright sunlight
Lost in the day, bright
Sea of tranquility
We had ability
Moonlanding site
A spectacular flight.
Apollo was lord
Of our neighbouring world.

I usually write a limerick for Esther Chilton Blog on a Monday. Last night I suddenly had a pain in my back. Why? I do not know but I don’t want it!
I wrote this in response to the word HOPE which is what the days prompt was.
I hope my back will be alright
It started hurting in the night
I took a pill
And hope it will
Be better by the morning light!
I hope it feels better soon. Its one thing after another!

The Moon’s out
Quite low
Shining through branches
Broken into bits.
Misty clouds
Wrap it
In darkness
Then it escapes
It’s lighthouse beams
Shining out.
Lunacy of Selene
Glints on teeth
Ready to snap
Jumping up
A wolf abroad
This night…

I’d better sweep up
The winds got up
And blown the leaves
All into weaves
The hedge is bare
And trees now dare
To share naked twigs
As branches do jigs
Dancing in the autumn air
Bright colours that dare
Descend to meet
Your slipping feet!

Pattern
colours
swirls
fun
one
word
descriptions
of
my
mind
art
and
joy

What’s coming my way?
Bills and letters
Cards and packages
All manner of flyers
Stuff from takeaways
Ads from restaurants
But just one letter
From a friend
Gives me happiness
A smile it sends..
Gives me pleasure

Silhouette of a waterbird taken a couple of days ago on a walk round Westport Lake. I liked the way the small rock in the water looks like a birds head with a beak. It made me look twice because the actual birds head was looking forwards, towards me. It does give the illusion that the head is turned in profile in the reflection.
wet water bird
waiting in the drizzle
reflected sorrow
for a little food
your mind stretches
to a new tomorrow
where sun follows rain
and warmth
replaces shivers
