No don’t use your computer hooman!

I will sit here hooman

Till you notice me.

You can’t type here hooman.

I won’t let you see!

If you use your keyboard,

If you touch your mouse,

I will chase the wires

Dance upon the desk.

Watch out I am jumping

On the computer keys,

Padding up and down them

Hooman- I’m here. Please,

Take some notice off me

Don’t ignore the cat,

Or I’ll press a button

And Delete all that!

The other one

Our boy cat having a stretch in the bathroom. He had been ill but he’s a lot better now. For the moment he sleeps in the bathroom on a towel because it’s a lot cooler in there. Not as much sun getting in. But sometimes I will find him in a patch of sunlight, curled up and warming himself. Cats have characters. He’s chilled. Our female cat is lively and loves chasing things. Sometimes they chase each other. A mad half hour. Then peace descends again.

Cat stops play

DSC_2999

When your cat decides it’s been ignored long enough, and you have to switch off the computer because she’s walked on the keyboard and jumbled your writing up. Then got in the way so you can’t see the letters on the keyboard too!

So, decaff coffee time, sandwich time. Listen to the radio for an hour. We all need a break, otherwise you turn into something like Mrs Rochester in Jane Eyre. A mad woman locked in a bedroom, tearing out her hair (while trying to cite and reference books about the artist Hokusai)!

Cat’s rule in this house. And I’m not complaining! Back to work in a bit.

Mirrored cat

Playing with photo editing in my layout app. When you have a subject like a cat you can duplicate and mirror the image and make something interesting happen. Choose to mirror half the face and you end up with a strong stare. I could have made her nose look more natural, but I prefer the odd symmetry this photo gives me.

Pattern,USK S-O-T prompt.

_20200816_204826

My friends at #uskstoke know my love of pattern so today’s prompt was for me! It took me a while because its been busy. I drew my cat in front of the sofa which has a bright throw over it. I didn’t get the pattern perfect and I had to rely on a quick photo to catch the cats face. Anyway I enjoyed doing this.

Paint texture

DSC_2935

I was looking at my old summer dream painting and noticed how dusty it was. I realised that the surface od the paint is quite raised. This was when I was painting in oils in a more impasto way. I don’t do that in acrylics, I don’t know why, because it’s quite interesting to look at? Maybe it’s something I could try out. I have a large tube of white oil paint. Maybe I could add coloured chalk into it as an experiment. I can do anything I guess.

I do like how sassy I got this image. She’s got real character. A proper glint in her eye.

Abandoned cat update

DSC_2931

The abandoned cat is being extremely loving. He’s made friends with both of us now. He comes when we call and now our cats are almost inoculated (our male cat needs one more shot) there is the possibility of introducing them to each other. I will have to get him to the vets for a check up. That will be interesting as he’s a big cat, at least half as big again as ours. Still I guess I will find out. I want him to be inoculated too so he has more of a chance of a healthy life. Then if we can integrate them, maybe he can come indoors a bit, as long as he does not fight with the other two.

Cat in garden

DSC_2922

This is the cat statue I showed on this page yesterday, in situ in the garden. I’m afraid the plants have dried out a bit and wilted in this heat. I might put some new pots in front of the cat.

I think the lilies are being munched by lily beetles. They are big and bright red. They don’t have spots like ladybirds. I’m hoping they don’t do to much damage. You are supposed to squash them but I can’t do that.

Anyway, thanks to my friend again for making Esher cat. He is a real friendly face in the garden.

International cat day

IMG_20200808_224703_997

This is the cat sculpture my friend from Sculpted Steel made for me from a sketch I drew. It’s lovely and she just shared her photo for international cat day. It cost quite a bit but it was worth every penny. It now lives in my garden with plants growing through and round it. I am very grateful to my friend for creating it for me. She is a brilliant blacksmith.
