Beautiful
Lilac purple
Pattern plays
On my mind.
No one knows
How lovely
You are.
Growing quietly
in my garden
Bestowing lovely
Unfolding petals
In my heart.
My soul.
New paintings and regular art updates.

A year ago I was at home
A year ago I wasn’t by the sea.
Eighteen months ago
I was home…
I wasn’t by the sea.
No storms, no showers
No tides, no beaches
No lapping waters.
Bereft of waves
Tide out
Gone.

Two hanging baskets, one below the other, have gone mad this year!
A column of plants
Chlorophyll filled
Turning a house
Into a garden.
Green with splashes
Of colours, gaudy
Reminds me of
The sculptor
Gaudi!
A mosaic of flowers
Crushed together,
Late summer skills
Gardening thrills!

Strawberries and cream
A delightful dish
Summers dream
Taste of bliss.
Sweet and lovely
Soft and silky
Red and white
Dessert delight!

Holding two pens
I draw a face.
Hard to control,
The pens wobble
Tighter grip now
Try again…
The face emerges
The offset pens
Give it a blurred look.
An ancient roman
Apparently appears.

A mix of red and blue
This colour can impress
A historical royal hue
An expensive shade
Until a method
Of manufacturing
Artificial purple
Came into view
Made by mistake
When making Quinine.

Grey sky
Big raindrops
Walking through puddles
Toes damp
Coat let’s in water
Through the seams
Glasses steam up
Rain hood blocks
The view
Up and down streets
Supermarket to warm up
Walking with shopping
Plod on
Through the rain.

Snoring, sleeping
Dreaming of leaping
Warm and snuggled
After being cuddled
Breath slowing down
After a night on the town.
Raining outside
Came in to hide
Away from the storm
With a lick and a yawn!

You show your belly
Cheer me up
Dare I tickle
Your white chest.
Paws have claws
Eyes are half closed
I don’t trust you!
But your belly
Tempts!

Climb a tree
Go up high
Up the branches
To the sky
Rough, hard bark
Hard to climb
In the dark
And down again.
Eighty foot
Old and strong
Limbs of great girth
Twisted and long.
Memory showed
Trees far up there
If I climbed up?
I’d get a scare!
