Lurgy, ill, sore throat
3 weeks 4 weeks more
The knives are out
My body aches
I’m sad and tired.
Give me a rest
Give me some time
To recover from it
Let me breathe
Stop this pain.
New paintings and regular art updates.

What way is he going?
Where he will end up?
On Mars or in the English channel
In Canada or the Gulf of America….
Has he got the knowledge
To lower the price of one egg?
Or is he looking for the Golden goose.
He plays with words and obfuscates.
But does he know what that means?
In the meantime the world trembles
In fear, shock and disbelief!
How did they chose him….
The ballot was real
Are they crazy
We all
Wait.
For four more years….
If you don’t have a lid what can you do?

Knives and forks and gilding.
A menu clipped to a board,
Light through a window
And cast down from a chandelier.
Chairs and tables
Scrubbed and clean
Let’s get a coffee
With lots of cream.

Something is occurring on UK tv
An orange smarmfest for people to see
So many millions drink the juice
And find their brains are letting loose
Thoughts of selfishness and pain
Their minds are so full of distain
For the poor and the elderly
Veterans too.
No fears in their minds
For those they will hurt
Much rather to vote
For an Orange Jerk.

She gave me ‘that look’
It was questioning me,
Looking into my soul
An unblinking stare
From inches away
Looking into me
It seemed to say….
Where’s my tea?

A crystal ball above our heads
A droplet of water magnified
Held to the ground, pulled down,
Curtains draped with fog
Moisture smears the view
Like glasses rinsed and wiped?
The sky’s the thing
Ever changing
Sometimes black, grey, bright.
Rainbows and thunder
Rain and snow, a marvelous show.
Is it a red sky tonight?

Last year I had a day trip
Went to the coast
Of Wales
It rained on the way
And it was blustery
By the beach.
I went on a coach
Can’t drive that far
Anymore
One day away
My holiday
……

I had a little nut tree
Nothing would it bear
But a silver nutmeg
And a golden pear
The king of Spains daughter
Came to visit me
And all for the sake
Of my little nut tree.
Funny how your mind looks for something interesting when it’s got nothing to do. I used to know a lot of nursery rhymes when I was a little child. This one I would say is well known? But who knows this one that I used to sing when I was on a seesaw.
Seesaw, Marjorie Daw
Jenny shall have a new master,
She shall have but a penny a day
Because she can’t work any faster!
I want to try and remember more. A couple in Manchester or Salford? Collected a lot of rhymes and children’s songs in the early 1900s. I think their surname was Opie. I’m sure there’s more information about it on line. They found that a rhyme sung in the south of England could travel to the North of Scotland in about two weeks by word of mouth (pre telephone).
Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
I miss that tee shirt
It was orange and white

I felt like a pirate
Fun to play in.
I was only a child
Wore it forever
But it wore through
Holes in the cotton
But wouldn’t let it go!
Eventually grew out of it
My mom used it to dust!

It’s cool for cats?
Not if you want to stay warm!
Sharing a chair
Which side is yours?
Not much space
To pace about?
So cuddle up
Snuggle down
Purr and sleep.
