Our cherry tree blossom has come out in the last few days. I decided to draw it for our #bandofsketchers prompt today. The word was Nature. I’ve seen some bumble bees around the lovely flowers. Felt pen and black ink fine line pen. It would also fit if we had a Spring prompt.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was power. I had to read my meter and disturbed a few spiders so I drew it. Its old and I’m trying not to use much power the way prices are going up!
Sketchfu drawing. An old website that closed. I’ve left it uncropped so you can see a bit of the technique I used. The drawing space was landscape orientated so portraits left a lot of space on either side. The site used simple tools but by changing opacity you could blend colours.
Ignore the grey colour. I’m trying to increase my text size in my story for college. Each section is in a box, but as I enlarge them they overlap the drawings a bit more, so I’m increasing the text but reducing the size of the boxes slightly. Done twelve so far, six to go! Argh!
I sat and drew one of the magnolias while we were there at Bishton Hall. It was just a black and white sketch so I coloured it in when I got home. The curved edges are because I can’t get my sketchbook page to lie flat. I don’t think I’ve got the colours right, but I have only got a limited range of colours in the set of felt pens I’m using.
Todays #bandofsketchers prompt was regeneration /renaissance. I could have done Dr Who for regeneration. But we took a friend over to the Thai Temple at King’s Bromley because it is the Thai New year. I decided to draw this Buddhistic statue as it is about regeneration in a way?
Another of my Sketchfu digital drawings. One of the things was a challenge to copy a photo just by drawing it. I think that’s what this one was. I wish I knew which pottery made the tea service. X
