Geranium plant today and a week ago. The poor thing has flopped because the cells have been frozen with ice in them. Only woody stemmed plants and evergreens have survived the coldest areas around the house. Some of the ones snuggled together have just about survived but snow and mist is forecast.
I am sad to lose the lovely flowers, but it’s only natural for this to happen. I’m glad I had time to enjoy them into December. X

Fished out of the cupboard
An old candle holder
It had a Christmas wreath
But now it will suffice
To light the room
If we have a power failure.
I have an old candle
Just remind me
Not to burn it
At both ends….

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was Antarctica. As penguins live in Antarctica I decided to draw one swimming in the sea. I did think about drawing them huddled together with chicks but they look so streamlined in the water. As usual a felt pen drawing.

My friend just told me she has covid and a few other friends have had it recently. Then someone else posted this graph on Facebook. There is a definite uptick on the right of the graph. It’s not clear how it will progress and given the lack of publication of the stats on TV anymore its not surprising that people are possibly getting a little complacent about it. Yes most people are vaccinated, but it doesn’t mean you will be totally immune. I just hope that people can get over it quickly. I for one keep buying and wearing masks.
🎄😺
Or not?
It’s Christmas
What have you got?
Wool mouse tails
Catnip chews
Kitten paws
Bows and ribbons
Then crash…
Baubles fall
Off the tree
The cats are chasing
Each other
And
Me!
Miaow
No Tree! ❤️

Shadows and woodchip wallpaper
Plant on the stairs
Casts it’s shape across
The textured swirls.
Reds and yellows tint
Shedding light askance
Hiding in plain sight.
Frozen frosting delight.
Borrowed from Penkhull panto, caps for the female cast members of a Christmas Carol. But are they Mob or Mop Caps? I can never remember! I know they seem to get used in performances from mediaeval to victorian times, but I’m not sure how realistic they are. They are quite comfortable to wear, but they won’t have had elastic in them, maybe drawstrings?

Sunlight reflecting off her fur, on the windowledge at the top of the stairs, she looks out to check on what’s going on in the garden. Not long now to the winter equinox when the days will slowly start to get longer again. She’s so soft and sweet.
Cats know how to keep warm. The heat rises up the stairs so she is happy up there. This afternoon she’s gone out for a little walk round the garden, I think she will be back in again soon. Then she will either go back upstairs or sit on the cat tree by the radiator in the living room.

I woke to a red sky and went downstairs for a cup of tea. Then I saw the moon setting behind next doors extension.
You can just see a little bar of misty cloud floating across the moon which looks tiny but almost close enough to touch. The red sky in the morning might be foretelling poor weather today, (this blog is getting very weather related). The bright reds soon started to fade, now the Sun is rising on the opposite horizon. Good morning all
