Little Oak tree
Not great yet.
Just middle aged
Not ancient
Will you survive
Into your centenary?
Have your acorns grown,
Have you got galls?
Surviving a winters day
With a squirrels dray.
New paintings and regular art updates.

Storm tossed in my duvet
Slipping beneath waves of sleep,
Sometimes floating
Or clawing back to the surface.
Submerged in dreams
And in my galleon
Surrounded by dolphins
I finally wake
In the safe port
In the harbour,
Of bed…

Oh what patterns they make
Waving in the air
Wind sighing and soughing
Rattling the twigs,
Scudding clouds scuttling.
Crossing the moon.
Witches fingers claw the sky
Bristling branches riding high.
Each security light blinks
On and off
On and off..
Mad morse code
Storm warning

Sleeping, resting
Eyes tight shut
Gentle snoring
Dreaming but
Soon the first
Dream twitching starts..
His eyebrows furl
His nostrils flare
What thoughts are running
Through his nightmare.
And then
And then
A single sigh
And peace and calm
Take over again.
Sleep
Rest
Relax…
Morphius returns.

I’m not the most sartorial walker,
Nothing matches
Everthing clashes
I like my white hair
Like I’ve had a bad scare!
Black and white trousers,
Red boots,
Purple jacket,
Blue fleece and mask,
I’m still standing
But my toes hurt,
My legs ache,
My fingers are white and cold
But I will do it all again
Tomorrow!

Sat on the fridge
Looking cheeky
Eye on the seahorse
Ready to strike
Or will he disturb
My fridge magnet haven?
Paw at the ready
Beady eye squinting
Ready to pounce
So funny
So daft!

I’m going walking
A long way
Far into the distance
And maybe back again.
I’m going walking
For 100 days
Come rain or shine
I’m moving forward
I’m going walking
So new boots
To help me travel
Over the earth.
I’m going walking
I Wave as I pass.
See you in May?
If I get back
X

So much I should be doing..
So much that I need to do
Too tired to think of drawing
I need to get some sleep.
Watching TV and dozing,
Sitting quiet and still
Have to rest my head.
Going to go to bed!

Blowing a gale
Air full of hail
What do I see?
Catkins on a tree!
Waving and twirling
Snow flakes are curling
Fall to the ground
But all around
Nature awakes
With every breath it takes
Spring comes nearer….
Nothing is clearer!

Taste and flavour
Convection currents
Dip your biscuit
In your brew
English breakfast,
Earl Grey
Dajeeling
With cup and saucer
Porcelain power.
Tinkle of teaspoon
One lump or two?
But English muffins?
Not a word!
