I wanted to use the ‘knitting’ pattern that I had drawn as a background for another image. Flip it over, mirror it and crop it, draw over it and add a boat and its reflection. I think it actually works quite well. The sea looks calm as a mill pond despite the wind catching in the boats sails. I added white lines to dilineate the surf as it flows onto the beach.

For mindfulness day two. I’ve hurt my right hand so I appreciated doing something left handed. It turned from mark making into a tree. My friend alou has a Facebook page where she encourages art with mindfulness as a meditation.
I started withe the blue swirls, which felt earlike, but when I added the gold colour and the dots it felt like a tree in the wind. The dots and the green leaves add to the feeling of a tree blowing in the wind.

Drawing I did a while in Artrage oils. Then duplicated it. I don’t know where these ideas come from or even if they are any good. But I’m constantly creating and learning. I can’t help it and I can’t stop. I just get a buzz out of art and creativity.

A digital drawing I did a few years ago. It’s based on the Mandlebrot Set which is a fractal pattern that was found when mathematicians worked on chaos theory. It is an infinite pattern that you can zoom into and the patterns flow and twist but the basic shape that I drew keeps coming back. Obviously this is just a drawing but it was an interesting challenge.

Covered in armour
Impenetrable scales
Against all drama
Arrows and staves
Flying above
Crawling below
Graceful as a dove
With a loud bellow!
Only a myth
An imaginary creature
Family kin and kith
In which lizards feature
Wings full of woe
Mouth full of fire
Where he does go
Things will be dire!
What is this thing
We wish will be gone?
Of it we will sing!
The inimitable Dragon!

This was a real leaf today. Its a bit blurred, but the colours are accurate. I walked around a local lake today, only a week later than I intended, but it did me good. It was grey and overcast, there were not many bright leaves, but right at the end of the walk I saw this. Half disintegrated, but colourful and cheerful on a gloomy day, it bought a smile to my face.

I can’t remember how I got this image, I know it’s based on a photo of fern leaves and I must have used layout to mirror the patterns. But how I added the various colours and added the tiles? I can’t remember. And just how did I get the embossed effect…. It must have been an app I no longer have on my phone. A puzzle, which is what the image looks like.

Dragon with teardrop shaped scales. For swimming underwater, nostrils that close up with spring valves, a small mouth that can close tightly. Pressure resistant eyes and ears that can hear infrasound under the ocean. Another design idea. I duplicated and mirrored the dragon head as I had only drawn one half of it.

Purr said the cat
Hello to you
How do you do?
Hiss said the cat
Your hand is heavy
Please move it.. Now!
Miaow said the cat
Yes I know I sat
On the cushion next to you.
Snore, snored the cat
Yes I am quite fat
And sleeping next to you
