Poor cat

He’s on the stairs, sleeping. He’s just home from the vets. He’s got an abscess below his eye and it burst while he was at the vets. I’ve got antibiotics to give him for the next few days. It will be difficult because he doesn’t like having big tablets, he doesn’t like them crushed in food, so we will try with a syringe and a little bit of water again. He hates having his eye wiped, I want to get in there and bathe it but he struggles and fights back, poor cat.

Planet/eye

I was trying to draw the planet Saturn, which is at opposition at the moment (on the far side of the sun so fully illuminated). But I couldn’t get the right shape or colour so I went a bit abstract. Using Artrage and photodirector I put the initial sketch through lots of filters and ended up with this colourful picture.

At the vets

Facing a long wait. The vets are busy and only have on clinician on duty. The people who were here for 2.30 are still waiting at 3.15.

Our cat must have been in a fight, he’s got a big lump on his face which is below his eye. Cats are prone to abscesses and they can burst on their own, but it’s important to get it checked out especially since its so close to his eye.

Anyway I hope he will be alright soon. Wish him luck. X

Why?

What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

I’m not sure I want a tattoo, I’ve managed not to get one so far in my life, but I might be persuaded if someone could give me a good argument to get one?

So what should I get an image of and where should I have it….? Perhaps a discrete one on a hidden part of my anatomy, my upper arm, back or leg? I’ve got no one to hide it from though, and they are much more beautiful than the old fashioned love and hate words on peoples knuckles. I know people with sleeves and huge tattoos on their backs or legs. I’m not afraid of being tattooed but I would rather design something for someone else..

A tattoo for me? My hubby always says I have eyes in the back of my head….

Faces?

Yet again I can see faces in this pattern. Like little dogs faces. The pale green patches with black horizontal lines coulsvbe frogs eyes. I got the colours by playing with ‘curves’ on my photo editor on my phone. I like the way the complementary colours of red and green work together. I could see this as a print on a scarf or even a place mat for a coffee cup or a pattern on the actual cup.

Stinging eyes

Ouch! When you have the back of your eyes photographed you have to have eyedrops put in that sting. Then for a few hours afterwards your pupils are dilated so that if you walk around in the sunshine everything is dazzling and the world is blurred.

Of course I asked how the pictures looked and the technician said she couldn’t go into detail it they looked OK and she would send the results on to be reported on.

I’m really pleased my eye are OK, I don’t want damage to my retinas. It would be awful not to see things properly. Not be able to paint things or draw. I’m relieved, it’s an annual checkup so I hope to continue to be OK.
