Shade of blue
Above me and you
Fading into black
When the sun sets.
Stars and planets
Meteors and comets
Fly up in the blue
Through different hues
Cerulean, Cobalt too,
ultra marine all in view.
A limited palette
Restricted to blue.

Artrage doodle, it started as a background and was possibly going to be a river with fish in it, but when it came to the final image, this strange face snuck in. I am struggling with energy, trying to stay awake because sleeping on an old armchair will do that to you. I’ve made lots of mistakes in the writing on here, I keep on doing it because I’m falling asleep as I draw and write. So it’s a very random drawing. X

Shapes on the cat tree and next to it. Suddenly becoming more interesting with the silhouettes and pale flowers outside. Almost like a solarized photo. I like the way some of the shapes have a darkened edge ariubd them. Quite abstract.

Facebook memories from 10 years, ago. The yard was much near we, and sunnier as the hedge, at the back wasn’t as overgrown. I love all the colours that were growing there then. When I’m back in my feet I must take new pictures

Lavender, lovely flower, place for bees to sip and feed. Likes hot and dry conditions. The aromatic oils create a delightful scent. Growing in fields of purple and green. Row upon row of beautiful flowers. People still make little bags of lavender flowers to sit under their pillows and help with sleep.
I have tried to grow it but it’s too damp and shady in our garden. I might grow a small plant, but it never flourishes like these plants in the photo.
I remember having a rockery at my childhood home. I think we had lavender growing in pockets of soil in it. It thrived in hot summers when the sun was baking hot.

I just went to my studio to take a photo of this tryptic. I’m afraid the light was bad, so I don’t think I’ve captured the exact colours on the paintings, but to be honest I’m walking with a stick and everything feels a bit “off” so this was the best I could do. I’ve adjusted the colour balance, contrast and brightness.

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was fruit. Lemon and limes sitting in a bowl for gin and tonics, but I haven’t had any gin in for weeks! Felt pen drawing, as usual. But I tried to use a minimal amount of black and not use much outlining, so it’s more solid colour.

Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was hot…I’ve tried to draw a hot landscape, perhaps it could be death valley. The hot colours in the sky at dawn. What will the temperature soar to? The colours were done with glitter pens and a black italic nib pen.

Wild flowers sewn at a local car wash a few years ago are a riot of colours and shapes now. They haven’t been cut back and each year the crop gets more varied and colourful. I hadn’t seen the yellow spikes of flowers until this year. Unusually we have had a lot of rain recently and I think that has encouraged a spurt of growth.
