I’ve decided to do more to this, I didn’t like the green on it and have tried to make it a bit more like graffiti. I want to tidy up around the edges.. I’m also working on a cat watching goldfish. I did a painting of that idea years ago and the new cat picture has a similar theme… At least I’ve got into painting again..
One day things work in a way I understand, then the next day it’s slightly different. Icons and buttons change. It happens here at WordPress, but I think its worse at places like Facebook. It seems like there are more restrictions, changes to what you can see, and more ads.
For instance Facebook reverts to ‘most relevant’ posts even though you want to see all of them. Then if you press like or live to every comment you can get suspended! It happened to me. My hubby had passed away and many people commented about it and because I wanted to thank everyone I got a warning for spam!
Instagram can be a bit confusing too and X. I know the sites want us to have a better experience but sometimes it would be nice to be told.
I go to a (nameless) supermarket that used to give discounts if you purchased shopping from them and used their discount card. I would build up a bit of money over the year and use it towards my Christmas shopping.
Recently they changed the system. Now if you use your card you should get a discount off some products and ‘everyday essentials’ (like milk and broccoli???). I’ve asked a few times how I find these products, apparently they have an extra blue sticker on them. So now I have to spend time looking round the shop for stickers? It also means that I have to choose what the shop wants me to buy to save money. Today I saved a whole 20pence on a tuna sandwich. That’s 20 pence off £26.40. When I asked the manager she said customers nationwide had asked for it? I wasn’t consulted.
Other information is that as theirs is a small shop they have less discounted products. If I go to a bigger store I will find more! Guess what, they are further away and consequently cost more to get to! Wow, wonderful (not).
I added the sprinkles onto this photo of a tree, as if all the leaves were falling off at once. I can’t remember how I did it, but I think I used photodirector. The image is from about four years ago, and the app has changed since then, so some of the different tools have changed and I’m not sure I could do this again. X
I have a problem. Notifications are closing on 8 March on WordPress and I keep getting a message to get the Jetpack app. But my phone is over 90% full. I don’t want to delete any of my other apps and I don’t think I have room. Also why separate one section of WordPress from another? Or is the whole shebang changing? Why don’t users have a choice, why are we always imposed on? Not everyone can afford to upgrade!
Like WordPress, Facebook is changing. There pages are being changed and from September they are closing their ‘classic’ version.
I feel like giving up. Social media takes up too much time anyway. This is ‘nudging’ me away from it….
Imagine, you have learned to drive on the left hand side of the road, you have always driven on the left. When you get to a roundabout you drive into it and go round it clockwise.
Now, suddenly, you are informed you have to drive on the right, drive counter clockwise round roundabouts. You have to drive at 70 miles an hour on minor roads, and 30 on motorways. No training! No question about what you might like. Imposed!
Thank you. Please change the rules for chess and monopoly too. That’s what you have. Power over us poor plebs who have no say in the matter!
Had an email this morning. Because my email is in someone else’s platform I have to download an app or something so it still works in a few weeks. Why? Because I’ve chosen to run the email address this way I’m not bombarded with adverts and junk. I don’t want to lose my email address so I guess I must comply. But it’s irritating. Why can’t they leave things alone. If you can’t email me soon you will know why!
This tree is going to have to come out. This was taken a couple of years ago. Since then we have had a lot of the branches cut back. Basically because it is too near the house and we are concerned the roots may affect the walls!
So we have spoken to the local wood turning group and they are happy to take the logs to turn into artistic objects.
I have already see birds carrying twigs around the garden so it needs doing soon.
