Motion

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Motion. This is my motion drawing, I visited Etruria Industrial Museum at the weekend and saw the Princess steam engine running. This is based on a photo but not copied from it. I have tried to remember how it was set up, I’ve also tried to use lines to indicate blurred motion.

Two galaxies

Two galaxies in line of sight. Taken by the hubble space telescope. They are not colliding but are completely separate, (like the moon going in front of the sun).

Imagine how big the view of one galaxy would be from the other one? If we were on  a planet there half the sky would be dazzling and full of stars, the other half facing the dark of space. It could be amazing!

Trying to save money

My tickets have been cancelled

I can’t afford to pay

The prices just keep going up

By day and day and day.

I want to give to charity

I want to share my funds

But if I don’t reduce my costs

There just won’t be enough.

So small cut here and over there

It won’t save very much

But one day things will be better

Then I will resume my trust

I worry if I don’t save costs

I will go totally bust!

Collaboration

The Orme Art Group is setting up a friends of page on Facebook. We want to share our ideas with members of the public who might be interested in coming to an exhibition or even joining.

One of the things we did over covid was to collaborate on pictures based on the work of famous artists. For example this picture based on a Cezanne still life.

If you were setting up a new page what would you suggest including?

Got in!

Just got a phone call. I’ve got my barn owl painting into the Brampton Open exhibition. I’m very pleased. I’ve got to pick the other one up but that’s OK, they were completely different styles so it gave me a bit more of a chance depending on what the selectors wanted. It will be up at the Brampton Museum and art gallery in Newcastle under Lyme from 24th September 2022 for a month.
