For the first time ever our big cat sat on my hubby’s knees! He as an abandoned cat and we have looked after him for five years. Gradually over that time he has become more appreciative of being stroked. He used to just sit on the chair arms between us, but now he’s venturing further. He’s a sweet cat, and he’s very big, but very gentle. He will tell you when he doesn’t like something. He rarely likes being lifted up, but he’s much calmer now. He loves his food and he’s quiet around our other two cats. I love them all….
Toe sorted out, went to a private chiropodists. Just got to let it settle down for a couple of days. This is the ‘before’ photo. He cut off the broken bit and trimmed my nails. Just after I got this appointment I got a call from the NHS podiatrists saying they could see me later today. I felt really guilty but I’d spent the night with my toes wrapped up and I didn’t get much sleep. I decided to stick with the appointment I’d made. I don’t like booking things then not turning up!
But while I was having tea tonight I realised one of my rings was missing. One hubby had given me on our anniversary a few years ago. I’d had to wait for it because the one in the shop was a size too big. I eventually got it, gold with some diamond chips.
I suddenly looked down at my hand and felt something was missing. I did a double take and squinted, not realising it was gone. Just thinking it had shrunk….?
Searching, in bins, no, going through the recycling, no, but it must have slid off. I’ve lost a bit more weight and all my rings are getting loose. In the pedal bin, no, in the kitchen, on the floor? No…. Panic, where was it. Coat pockets, no, dressing gown pocket? No. Another bad thing today… Looked on the floor and swept up. No. Can’t vacuum incase it gets sucked up.
I remember a senior manager getting some students to search for her diamond ring through full vacuum cleaner bags! That was years ago.
Oh where are you? Handbag, got a torch… A GLINT of GOLD!
Oh great!!! I won’t need to contact the places we visited, or our insurance.
Where is it now? On my other little finger, crammed between two other ones. Hopefully safe now.
After spending three hours searching for plasters… I found them. I’ve put one lengthwise over my toe to protect it. To hold the loose bit of my toenail in place. I tried to put another one round three toes but it didn’t work so I’ve resorted to Masking tape. It hurts but I didn’t want to leave it loose because when I go to bed the sheets will catch on it. Ouchie!
We had a walk last night up and down hill so I decided to have a flat walk this morning. One of my feet hurt, but I thought it was just a bit of an ache from yesterday. We walked very slowly round the lake because it hurt. I felt miserable but we stopped for a hot drink and I felt a bit better.
It was only when I took my shoe off that I saw I had split one of my small toenails from the end down to the quick, it’s sort of hanging off (I’m not showing a photo of it). I rang my podiatrists but they are short staffed and everyone is fully booked. I rang my GP (General Practitioner) but they have no one to deal with it. Waiting for a phone call or I might have to make a private appointment. Thank goodness the car passed its MOT, I might just be able to afford it! Hubby said he will get a pair of pliers if I wanted! No!
Have I posted this before? By twisting an image by 90° and mirroring it you can get some strange effects. The lines on here are Street lamps going off into the distance. The light behind the clouds give it an alien appearance, what sort of atmosphere could it be. I can also see strange figures in the sky. Possibly faces? A bit of pareidolia? Symmetry does odd things….
