Negative lateral flow
So that’s good
Sore throat and aches
That’s a bit bad
Tired and fed up
But not very ill
Just feeling down
In the dumps
While my brain slumps!
New paintings and regular art updates.

Negative lateral flow
So that’s good
Sore throat and aches
That’s a bit bad
Tired and fed up
But not very ill
Just feeling down
In the dumps
While my brain slumps!

Strange little painting
Came from my mind
A little idea
Of a bird in a tree
Old window bars
Rusty and dry
Frame a bright view
Of a frozen blue sky.
Jay at the centre
Waiting to fly.

The snow has gone for now
Warm winds blow from the south
Clear frosty mornings
Left behind
Rain and showers
Water the blossom and flowers
Cold chill twigs
Now wet with buds.
Birds collect bugs
and think of lining their nests
With moss and fluffy stuff
Warm and snuggled
For eggs and chicks
Farewell Winter.
See you later in the year
As the seasons turn.

Winter flees as sun rises higher
Dawn comes sooner
Sunset later
The Earth tips North
sees more of the Sun.
Ground warms
Rain falls, buds swell.
Soon the world will be green
Again.
But in the South?
Autumn makes gains.

Not this years ones, they haven’t opened up yet. But they are starting to grow up. I just can’t wait. I’m used to waiting for spring but sometimes it seems to take an awful long time to get here. A couple of weeks ago the temperatures were in the high teens Celsius, last week they dropped to freezing or below, and there was a snow in a few places across the UK. We didn’t get more than a bit of hail and snow here. Meanwhile the daffodils and snowdrops are up. We haven’t had much rain though, so the buds on the trees are not fully open yet…

A short story…
A cold wind blew across the lake, finding gaps in my coat and blowing my hair around. The branches and fronds of the willow trees streamed like ribbons on a kite, lifting and waving. The ducks ruffled up their feathers against the cold. We had walked out of sunshine into shade and the temperature had dropped noticeably.
The man and his dog walked towards us. It was muzzled with a band of leather round it’s mouth, but it still pulled the man along. It was a big dog. A hound of some sort. It was difficult to see in the gloom. As we came level with them the dog jumped up. It’s paws landing on my shoulders. I was knocked over by its weight. I sat down hard in a puddle. The weight of the dog pushing against me.
The man looked alarmed. Shocked. He tugged the dog away. All he said was ‘sorry’ and walked off! I sat there freezing and wet….. What a day!

Sunset looking out towards Cheshire/Shropshire. Its been a cold and breezy day today but plenty of sunshine. I went out drawing for an hour, then I went for a little walk this evening round Penkhull. It wasn’t far, and it was very chilly. I felt a bit better. I didn’t sleep well last night and the cold air refreshed me. Good to see the sunset.

Multiple image, one tree duplicated. Winter image, steely blue sky. The whiter areas could be teeth, the trees gums? The indentations from the chimneys are also tooth like. The trees could be capillaries or veins. Cold and icy. Lots of thoughts.

I look up and see two monsters looming over me. They are staring at each other. Air swirls round them. Crystallising ice makes frost sheets over everything. ALIENS!
Created this photo from four mirrored images of sky, cloud, bushes and houses. Then added texture in Photodirector. The images look like huge baby chicks but with added claws waiting to grab you. Ready to pounce and fight with each other. I was interested in the colours of the sky. It gives a feeling that the air is chilled to a minus number.
Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt was shiver…
Frosty leaves
shiver in the breeze,
Silver highlights
Make them bright,
Ice crystals like sugar
Sweeten their pallor.
A bad poem to go with this drawing of frosty leaves for the prompt.
