A busy abstract pattern that evolved in a couple of apps. Not very neat and tidy and only done this because I couldn’t think of anything else on the busy theme. For prompt “busy” #bandofsketchers
I was feeling spiky
A bit annoyed today
Something like a cactus
On a hot summers day.
Then I thought of flowers
The way they emerge
Sometimes out of nowhere
When the cactus has a surge
Of growth when it’s ready
To make a new plant
It made me feel happier
My mood more valiant.
Based on a fern plant. Just grey black, white and green using different pens in the Artrage app. Included a metallic background on this abstract drawing.
My autumn into spring painting at my exhibition. It’s going to a new home as it’s been sold. I love the feeling that someone has found something special about it.
But I have to say I find selling art difficult, it’s not my thing, I’d much rather just create. I think that’s why I paint what I want, I can’t paint the same idea over and over again. I get bored and have to move onto something else.
Sketchfu drawing collaged four times. The layers are the circular pens on sketchfu alternating light and dark, then shaded with lower opacity browns and greys to give a 3D effect. I think the result looks quite abstract and alien.
I see the yellow spiral as an eye, the greens emphasise the shape. This could be a garden from above. A dragons head?
There is a ground sculpture called Northumberlandia in the Northeast of England in the county of Northumberland. It’s laid out as a figure of a woman in a celtic form and built up in hills which you could do with this image, the orange and yellows could be paths. This is an Artrage app sketch.
I have a few new paintings. Mostly matchbox sized. I’m putting them in the exhibition of Orme Art Group work at the Brampton museum and art gallery in Newcastle under Lyme. It runs from February to the end of March. We will be having the display in the entrance window. Wish me luck, I hope to sell a few pieces.
#bandofsketchers prompt was making. I’m making paintings by gluing little canvas boards in frames and painting different ideas for a craft fair on Sunday. This is an abstract, it could represent a stone or mineral.
Sometimes I have no iea what I’m doing. I just doodle, draw and dabble with textures on the apps in my phone. First drawn in Artrage and then used photodirector to play and change things, then adjusted he colours in Instagram.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was handmade. I tried to do an abstract, an imagined explanation of the prompt. I drew a hand holding a hand made of ice that is starting to melt. I used Artrage app and photodirector.
