Just green.
Over the world
More air to breathe
Fresh and clean.
Keep the trees
Grow more forests
Stand back from the land
Let nature take over
Give life a chance.
New paintings and regular art updates.

I saw the twins again today, she said. They are getting older, but they still look the same. Craggy, serious, hard.
Yes, I know, he said, they were never cute, but they certainly have character.
I think I will ask them if I can draw their portraits she said. It would be interesting to chat with them and find out a bit about them.
So three weeks later she say down with a pen and paper and started to draw Kim and Jen. She started slowly, trying to find their differences and their similarities. Chatting with them she found they finished each others sentences. Kim was a Chemist, Jen was a Jeweler. Both had problems with their lives. The world couldn’t get its head around identical sisters. Well, not exactly that, she could see what they meant.
Wooden puppets! Who knew they could be alive and walking round the world. Pinnochio had a lot to answer for!

I had some strawberries in the fridge but they started to go mouldy so I cut off the bad bits and chopped them up. I made pancakes with two cups of self raising flour, three eggs and milk to make a thickish batter. I let it rest in the fridge and whipped some cream.
If you heat a frying pan with oil in it till its hot you get better pancakes. Pour off any excess oil to reuse after cooking your first pancake. Swirl the batter round the pan to get it level. If you watch, as the batter cooks the top of it will start to bubble and dry out. You can see its setting as it cooks. I use a spatula to turn it over. When cooked add cream and chopped strawberries. I used sweetner rather than sugar and would have used lemon juice if I had any in.

I wanted a birdbath/waterstation for small mammals. I decided to buy some plant pot saucers. Our garden is on a slope, so I’ve used bricks and a piece of wood to place them one above the other. I also used an oblong plant tray to hold more water. I’ve seen a blackbird nearby so I’m hoping it attracts them. I’ve put the saucers in an open area so they don’t get pounced on by cats. X

I have been potting on little plug plants again today. Fushias, lobelia, French marigolds, antirrhinum, trailing geranium and other plants. The garden at the side of the house is full of trees but the back yard is my domain. It is already full of Welsh poppies, a few small strawberry plants, small tomato plants, raspberries and other random plants. It’s getting quite like a jungle! I’m now waiting for a few hanging baskets I’ve ordered. I love my annual riot of colour!

I’ve spent a few more hours planting and tidying up our back yard. I’ve potted on a lot of little plug plants and the bees are busy gathering nectar and pollen. I’ll post a picture of the yard next, but photos are taking up too much space on my blog so I’m trying to limit what I post. Here you can see some of the colourful plants I have growing here.

Peeling paint filter over duplicated flags. I have tried to create an image that you might have found on an old billboard, perhaps in the states although the pattern is not correct (I’m not sure what country it represented, and as I have duplicated its more difficult to recognise). I might try and paint it as an abstract image.

Gardening, Yoga, Choir practice
All in one day!
Poppies to pot
Marigolds and lobelia
Plants bought needed tending.
Then oh!
Blissful Yoga
But with stretches
The Cobra and Sphinx
That have made my legs ache.
Finally, singing
Bunting still hanging
Samoan and Maori
English, fragrent and flowery.
So much in a few hours.
A good rest?
That will be best

Well I decided to play with this. I could have chosen a photo, but this turned out a bit like a multi coloured jelly! Two versions, one digitally manipulated. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was Rocky.

While I was singing yesterday I spotted a stall selling plants. I got this poppy plant from them. When I got home it was tipping it down with rain so I left it in the bag in the living room. When I got up this morning one of the flowers had opened up in this beautiful red colour. I think the warmth has bought it out. I will put it out on the wall outside.
