Upstairs view! Not today’s, but I got upstairs for the first time in three and a half weeks!
The computer needed rebooting. The number of emails I’ve had was ridiculous. I’ve deleted a lot of them because they are well out of date.
I want to make the bed and tidy up. But just getting there is an achievement. I had to sit down for half an hour before I could limp back down again, but it’s good progress. I’ve just got to keep healing and getting better.
My digital doodle of the northern lights. A couple of days ago the sun threw off a medium sized Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). A plume of hot plasma which the Sun throws out every few days into space. This time it was a halo CME which was pointing directly at us on Earth.
The Sun releases plasma and radiation which can cause effects like auroras on Earth. Streams of electrons and ionised gas travel down the magnetic lines of force that surround the Earth in a protective layer. They hit out atmosphere and glow different colours depending on what atoms they excite.
Yesterday aurora were seen quite far down the longitude of the Northern hemisphere. It might happen again tonight. The sky glowed. I don’t live far enough north to be able to see it. One day I hope I do.

I’m working on a series of images of dragons for a college project. Working towards a final depiction of a dragon for my proposed children’s book.
Thus started out as a bit of glittery painting I’d called dragon skin. Then I mirrored it so it was symmetrical. Finally I drew features on it symmetrically using a digital sketching app. I like the idea of amalgamating digital and analogue art.
Retail therapy, that’s what women shopping is something called. And yes sometimes going out and buying things can be fun. But it’s not something I can afford to do all the time.
Normal household shopping is more mundane. How many tins of beans or loaves do I need this week. Will I need to go out more than once? How long will things last?
My hubby says he hates shopping. So I asked him if he thought I enjoyed it? We don’t have the skills to order on line and I prefer to vary what I get. I like variety when I shop and seeing the things that are there.
But shopping is not a pleasure. Its a chore. Like washing up or doing the dishes.
Let me let you into a secret. Women are not genetically programmed to do household chores. We are not robots, not domestic goddesses not slaves or maids. If we have partners they should share the work. Just because women have generally always managed household chores doesn’t mean they always will do or should.
I can’t understand why you can call a woman a ‘slut’ for having an untidy or messy home, but you can’t use the same expression for men? Why are women picked on?
‘Treat them mean, keep them keen’ ? No ‘Treat them fair, do your share!’ Should be the slogan!
I’m not explaining, it’s too complicated. But here are two pictures. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt ‘sharp shards’ and then digitally edited it to create the second image. I think it coukd be used as a fabric design. I had fun.
I have done an abstract using shiny acrylic paint and a pallette knife, then using felt pens to add colour. I’ve called it ‘sharp shards’. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was sharp.
As usual I’m experimenting with materials and techniques. I love colour and I added splashes of it with bright felt pens I bought lasr week. The acrylic paints are little bottles with glittery and opalescent colours.

I like it, I like the Romaesco version I think it’s called. The version with sculptural spiral swirls that are like a version of fibonnacci number patterns. The spirals have a fractal look about them. If you’ve never seen it look it up online. It’s a fascinating shape.

A fourth cat is trying to muscle in with my other three cats. We think she’s female and she has spent an hour yowling in the garden. We have two indoor /outdoor cats and one outdoor/indoor cat. Hubby likes the look of her and went out and fed her!

How to get a free meal
And some loving too!
Yowling and purring

I painted a stone with a dragon design, then I edited it in photodirector. The paint is in little bottles with a nozzle and you use it to add dots and lines onto a surface. I’m a bit unsteady with my hand and arm so it’s more wobbly than I would like. Once it’s dry I might take another photo. As the colours dry they seem to shrink because they seem to have glue in the paints. Especially the ones with added glitter.
