Comfort-cat
He couldn’t be more comfortable
Like a bug in a rug
A chick in a nest
A coiled warm snake
A dog in a vest
A bear in its den.
A goldfish in its bowl
A bee in its hive.
He’s happy to have his belly rubbed.
A comfort-cat enjoying life.
Great purrs-onality!

A lifetime of collection
A wide selection
Stacked in a case
Of wood, a place
To keep your mind
You thoughts find
Sections of thought
Over the years, you bought
But still despite it all
My grammar is still appall

Staring cats
Hours of staring
Looking, viewing
Taking time to see
What is moving
Running, twitching
What could it really be?
Cat is looking
Viewing, staring
Through the window wide
Keep the door closed
Keep him inside
Well away from the wild….

Statue covered in ivy
Blackberry twined around
Fairy or tree sprite?
Grown over and stilled
A grey statue instead of
A living spirit of love.
The overgrowth expands
Tying down more fairy folk
Silencing their songs.

Cats sleep..
Late at night
Cats sleep and I can’t
I almost slept
Then a cat crept
Onto the bed
Laid down on my leg
My leg went to sleep
But I didn’t
Shook off the cat
And came and sat
On my armchair
With a cup of decaff
And a cracker with cheese
I’m really not pleased
Cheesed off in fact
I might try and nap
With a cat on my lap
Or go back to bed
As the dawn breaks red
Another night of cat naps fled…
Textured cat
The cat sat on the textured mat
A filter changed its shape
It’s spikey and crinkly
Coloured and wrinkly
But the cat is relaxed
Not very fat
Contented on the mat.
Belly
My cat last night
Upside down,
Playing with a toy
Belly exposed
Excited and charming
Relaxed and fat!
Funny and playful
Twisting and twirling
A black and white whirlwind
Happy and purring!
Beepbeepbeep beep
Unexpected item in the freezer area..
The ice cream is defrosting
Icebergs float past
My glacier is shrinking
Mussels in an icy glaze are thawing
I’ve deleted my icecubes
The TV is not drowning the beeping
In fact the ice water might flood
With teeny tiny icebergs
Floating past…and me
My heart is frozen stone
My dreams destroyed by BLEEPing!
But only a first world problem….
