Today’s prompt for Esther Chiltons limerick challenge is Bread this week. I wrote this poem to be humorous and although I hate marmite I wouldn’t try and stop anyone else eating it.
Limericks have two rhyming lines at the start, then two lines with a different rhyme and then one single, final line, that rhymes with the first two.
Maybe it’s time to get your pen out…?

Comparisons. The middle drawing was the original and the top and bottom ones are experiments. I love playing with art. Originally part of our #bandofsketchers prompt ‘beach’ based on Bovisand in Devon.
Mammal? Ursine, bearlike, white faced, snowy coat. Is there an abominable snowman? An alien creature or a hidden anthopoid ancestor? Related to the mythical Big foot? Could something survive in hidden valleys up in the mountains? Living in caves. Quiet and intelligent. Their furry bodies insulated against the cold. Would melting glaciers and snow force them higher and higher? Their camouflaged bodies keeping them hidden from the increasing population of mountaineers and walkers encroaching on their space.
A digital drawing of an imagined creature. Making up a history and biology of it is interesting but I don’t have the skills to really write it.
Beach, #bandofsketchers. Today’s prompt. Felt pens. I also did digital variations. I might put them on another post. Trying for a 1930’s art deco vibe.
In a cafe in Burslem a couple of years ago. I was surprised to see a bike hanging on the wall, spray painted gold. A nice decoration? Possibly. Hopefully it’s well attached to the wall. I guess it’s OK to do this. I’ve seen cart wheels and farm implements as decorations before so, yeah, why not?
Still coming up with ideas for dragons for my final college piece. I’m working on ideas for their morphology. This has the head of the bull, wings of a bat and body of a Boa constrictor. Felt pens and fine line pen…
I used to draw a lot in an app called sketcherfree but I haven’t used it for a while. Perhaps it is time to find it again. Using different styles frees up my mind!
Using filters you can vary colours and styles. I used a photo editing app but also photodirector. I placed all four images together using the Instagram Layout App. I know I keep going on about these editing programs but it’s because I think they can make a difference to my art without me losing my originality. The source of the image is usually one of my drawings, paintings or photos. It’s like adding layers of style to my creative ability.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was factory. This is the view from our window across the road to the factory. They have trees and plants in front of it to screen it a bit. The tree is covered by ivy at the moment but the buds are already showing ready for spring.
I’m trying to come up with different Dragon designs. This was today’s idea. Batwing ears, crocodile type skin and scales, smoke gently streams from its mouth. I’m not sure how large it is? It could be two feet long or twenty meters! I’m pleased with it.
