Seashore mosaic

Photoshop landscape using mosaic photos to break up the image. It’s an interesting effect but is it a bit jarring? The secrion of the sky seems to have too many black bits I’m it. This is years old and I can’t remember when I did it. I have numerous pictures that I created over several years. I am very interested in artistic experiments. X

Cat dragon time

If cats had wings like dragons or bats what strange creatures would they be. Able to leap and fly over tall buildings to get to the kitty food on the other side. Sharp claws to grab rodents and then fly them up to eyries High up on the rooftops. Would they play with TV ariels or sit in satellite dishes?

Would they fight in mid air? Fur flying and showering people below. Maybe they would be entirely feral and not have owners. I’d hate to have to try and catch one to take to the vets for a checkup? And I can imagine them snuggled up, wrapped in their wings when they sleep?

I’m still here

You may not see as many blogs, but I’m still here, lurking! I’ve got a college project that I need to finish and other work to get done. Other things are also going on so life is a little stressful at the moment. I just had to get work done on my car too. Its a good car, but spare parts are hard to come by now because it’s so old. They just don’t make some of the parts anymore. But I will watch your posts and see what is happening. I’m still here!

Blocks

Digital manipulation of paving blocks. The colours are from water and green algae on the blocks. The perspective of them means that because I have mirrored them both side to side and up and down there appears to be a bulge in the centre of the picture. I again used the Layout app that comes with Instagram to do the mirroring.

Two clicks and a crop

My earlier ‘hope’ drawing with one lot of added texture, a smudge of gundge, then cropped to cut out my writing at the top. It’s amazing how quickly you can change something by just altering them slightly in an app. In this case I used photodirector. It’s OK, some of the stuff on it is too advanced for what I want, but I just use the simple stuff that’s free. What I don’t like is how a lot of art sites charge a monthly fee instead of letting you buy a package like you could in the past. Over time it adds up, and I can’t afford that.

Tree branches…

Just a little light digital editing gave me this network of patterns. The colours of a sunset sky held in a web of twigs. I think I could use it as a design for cushions or duvet or bed covers, even bags and tee shirts. Not anything I’ve actually done, but maybe I should find out. I’m finding out about file sizes, types and colours. I know if I don’t get the resolution right the images cannot be scaled up successfully. I mostly save my images as .jpeg’s but I recently found out I should save them as .tiff files. Also the resolution should be 300dpi where my computer saves to 72dpi normally. I’m learning as I go on.

Spooky self portrait

Late night self portrait. Playing with filters on photodirector and Instagram. Trying to get the exposure right so it was dark enough but the highlights on my eyes, nose and mouth stood out. It looks almost wooden, like a ventriloquists dummy. I could have looked out from the photo but I think that would have creeped me out more!
