Creating strange images. Floating objects. Buildings not held down by gravity. Defying the laws of physics, playful, a rocket, chimney, identified flying object. Old tiles and bricks badly laid. Clouds cracking to let the blue sky through. Can I see faces or animals in them. Your choice.
My friends blue chair, its so comfortable. I had one like this, but mine had woodworm. I treated it then wondered what to do. One of the legs was worst effected so I got two thick metal knitting needles and pushed them up into the leg where it had broken. Then I got some electric flex and wound it up and down the leg until I had covered the missing section. The cable fitted in quite well with the woven split cane that covered the rest of it. A second treatment of woodworm killer, then I painted it bright red. Like my friends chair it was extremely comfortable. That Christmas I was short of money so I gave it my sister who had recently moved out of home. As far as I know she still has it thirty years later.

Clouds tonight, tiny specs of cloud and long mares tails. About 8pm tonight. The colours were beautiful and gentle. I think these clouds come before rain, so it might be thundering tomorrow.
At about six o’clock I saw this out of the landing window. A similar sort of cloud but without the whispy bits.
Looking up at clouds is fascinating. If you are interested you could look up the cloud appreciation society. There is a Facebook page about it.
Sky outside my door

Stir the skies ocean.
Liquid, fluid, rapid, vapours.

Finally finished in June.
After a long hiatus, I’ve finally started painting again. Mostly because there is a socially distanced craft fair on next weekend and I need to earn some money.
This is a kingfisher taken from a shutterstock photo I think. I’ve had the photo on my phone for months.
I love the blue/orange contrasting colours. I’m going to do a few tiny canvases and then one or two nature paintings and flowers from the garden… Plus lots of college work, so it will be a busy week for me… Wish me luck.

Stoke-on-Trent urban sketchers challenge today. The prompt was bottles so I went and drew the ones I have on the windowsill in my bathroom. My favourite is dark blue. Then there is a ‘poison’ bottle of perfume a glass cat with a glass goldfish trapped in it. A square small gin bottle and an old chemistry bottle with a cork… I do like collecting stuff…
I used brush pens and permanent colour pens and a fine liner. On cartridge paper in my sketchbook…
Just enjoying the challenge of drawing the fern that has spread everywhere in the bathroom.

I saw a face,
I blocked out some of the photo, and added some lines to the result in a sympathetic green colour. The blue mecanopsis flowers form stunning eyes, the concave petals give it depth. The dark purple makes the mouth and upper lips. It’s a almost insect like, perhaps like the head of a dragonfly? I can see antennae on it. It’s something I enjoy doing, playing with images.

The bright reflection of my orchid plant in a glass covered picture my friend gave me. It’s a close up and it stands out because of the darkness of the surrounding area.. The pink, blue and green stands out bright and clear. I wish my phone camera could reproduce images more clearly when you zoom in. But it was worth taking the photo.

Today’s challenge in a friends Facebook group was to post a picture of yourself with the colour blue. I can’t find my facepaints so I put on a hat, picked up a magazine and stood in our bathroom with its blue painted walls.
I guess I could filter it and change it to intensify the blue.
Meanwhile I’m thinking of how to depict purple, which is tomorrows challenge. The idea is to collect a whole rainbow of colours and then the admin of the group will create an artwork. Interesting…
