New paintings and regular art updates.
Todays #bandofsketchersprompt was signage, and as I was walking home after a long, wet, cold walk I decided to take a photo with my very soggy camera, of the view. Since my college course has me doing observational images every day this fit the bill for both prompts.
Felt pens for the signs, a bit of underdrawing with a felt pen thats running out, and watercolours to give it a “wet” feel.
Had this button bowl from a friend three years ago. I store my marbles in it… So I really haven’t lost them!
It’s made of PVA glue holding the buttons in place. She molded it around another bowl. It’s sagged a bit and it’s in my bathroom, but it’s held together remarkably well….
Shattered. Thought there was another Zoom meeting … But ended up miming to a virtual panto song. We are holding a virtual pantomime in a couple of weeks. Songs and sketches.. (our village hall usually holds a live one in February), so we are doing a ‘locked down in panto land pantomime!!
Had a couple of zoom meetings tonight. I decided to draw the second one as it was a choir practice. Partly because it was another Zoom meeting and partly because it looked slightly different because there were song lyrics showing up sometimes. The words are made up or from the song I sang because they only showed up when we were singing the songs.
The characters are representative but not exact portraits. In black and white ink on cartridge paper. 
I was up till six am painting a self portrait in the hope of entering it for the Sky Portrait Artist of the year competition. By Five thirty I was shattered so I only vaguely painted in the background. It’s not really finished, but I thought it had a bit of something about it… But when I tried to register later the site wouldn’t accept my email address! I ended up contacting their enquiries but when I tried to resubmit I was passed the deadline! I might think about more work on it and enter it for a local open exhibition….
So much I should be doing..

I need to get some sleep.
Watching TV and dozing,

Have to rest my head.

Blurred abstract, signifying speed and movement. Not sure whether I will make more out of this or not. It reminds me of arches in a church. Or I feel like I’m falling….
I might enter the Sky Portrait Artist competition so I tried to do a sketch to base a painting on. I’ve only got tomorrow to get it done! Madness…. Or I might enter the drawing instead
My last drawing was based on the prompt sketchbook. I did a picture of a sketchbook standing upright with various pages showing. I added a colourful background and a thanks to Magenta Sky who organised the challenge.
Favourite digital drawing I did ten years ago at a website called sketchfu. The site is defunct but I saved some of the drawings and this one popped up today on my Facebook page. The little pink creature was Fu, the sketchfu mascot…. Spock was my favourite character followed closely by Kirk….
