New paintings and regular art updates.
I started the previous drawing like this. It was going to be a background for something else, so the pattern is spread across the whole surface. I might recreate it on a canvas in paint. Not decided yet. I have an exhibition coming up in November and I’m thinking of creating a series of abstracts based on some of these designs.

Watercolour sketch, I think it was in Cornwall or Devon, one day we’d gone down to a harbour and I used to take watercolours and sketch pads with me on our visits. Sometimes I left them at our holiday let’s as a gift to say thank you for a lovely time.
The geology of Devon and Cornwall includes dark craggy rocks which is why I recognise the area.
Using plastic wrap as a type of filter….
If you don’t have an app to add a filter why not use something real instead? Here I used some crumpled plastic wrapping paper to put over the top of my abstract drawing of a face. It almost looks like the lines are printed on the plastic. Remember, experiment, have fun!
Drawn in a sketching app. I just used the tools and my finger to draw. There’s a built in wobble from my shaking arm. It’s been erased a few times to remove the most wobbly lines. I like the fact it’s quick and fresh. I like spontaneous line making. I enjoyed making it. X
Our cat has been to the vets and was kept in overnight. He’s home but among other problems he’s got an ulcer on and inside his eye, it looks very cloudy. He’s on antibiotics and two types of drops. All have to be given at different times (one eye drop four times a day, one eye drop three times a day) antibiotics every twelve hours….
He’s also damaged his soft palette, possibly trying to bite his way out of where he was trapped?
And then his kidney functions are off. I hope he will recover. We will know more after the weekend…
Abstract ‘window’ for Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt. I did a black and white drawing, then added some cut outs of paper trees. I tried drawing over them because I wasn’t very happy with it. Finally used photodirector to change the texture. The cut out trees were meant to represent net curtains.
I decided to try and draw a bar code. Then I extended it to try and add a bottle kiln. Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was ‘label’ 5.8.21 its a bit untidy but I think its interesting. Black fine liner pen.
Two versions of mark making using green nail varnish and a plastic card to spread it. Normal view and then digitally filtered. Yes that is meant to be a bird!

I couldn’t resist looking for curves on the net. I looked up Dance Curves and found some line drawings by Kandinsky from 1926. I sort of amalgamated the figure and the curves.
