Driving badly

Tired and shaking. Had a lovely day rehearsing for Middleport next weekend. I needed some decaff coffee and drove up to tescos. Got my shopping. The sun was low as I pulled out of the garage forecourt. There was a car coming but I had time. I swear it sped up and I had to quickly pull out of it’s way…. It was a police car! Blue lights flashing. I pulled over apologising profusely. I was shaking with shock because Parkinsons gets worse when you are stressed. I have no driving offences and the last time I was stopped was for an indicator not working 20 years ago! I will never do that again. The policewoman drove me home while her colleague followed. Now I’m worried I might lose my licence as they have to report it to the DVLA. I feel like a complete idiot… Don’t put yourself at risk. Make sure you have enough time to pull out and don’t forget to give way! Big lesson learnt.

Lilac flowers

I’m not OK this afternoon. A bit shook up. I  saw someone climbing up my garden gate through my side window, so I decided to confront them. I’m afraid I swore at them very loudly  (along the lines of “What the EFF do you think you’re doing?” ). Then I realised it was a couple of teenage boys from the local school. They were shocked and so was I. They explained they were trying to get some of my white lilac for their mums which is about 8 foot up off the ground. I told them they should have asked permission. I explain it shook me up because we were burgled 18 months ago and caught burglars climbing over the gate…  I still feel rough (high. BP). I let them get some flowers as I was also shocked by shouting at them! They were OK about the shouting and apologised to me.

Tired

I know I’m being hypervigilant, but after the robbery a couple of weeks ago my sleep patterns are really disrupted. I still haven’t gone back to bed upstairs, I feel like a security guard, watching for movements. I thought I saw someone running along the alleyway next to our garden tonight. It worried me and we went out to look.

In the meantime my hubby has been ill for a few days and I need to make sure he’s OK. I don’t know if he’s still shocked by the robbery and he’s worked hard to secure the boundary hedge. Yesterday we were putting in spikey plants. He’s getting on and he’s probably overdoing things. Life is a pain sometimes. I just want us to feel safe again.

Robbing spree!

Example of one of the things stolen

In shock, two men around 20s were in our garden about 2pm, hubby disturbed them. They took electric shears and other stuff. I saw them go over our gate, tried to grab one. Very shook up.
They both have short dark hair, one with a beard, about 5’10”,black jackets and trousers. Ran up our Road, hubby chased them Police have been. Fed up this is Four Times in a week!

Spoke to neighbours they have had their sheds broken into. It seems like a crime spree. I’m blogging to try and take my mind off things.

Regrets

The world is mixed up today. Something happened and I think it’s too personal and painful to recount here, so I’m not mentioning names, but I am writing to sort my thoughts out a little.

I have so many regrets, things I didn’t do, words I didn’t speak. Silence I didn’t break. Not because I was being mean, but because I lost track of time, I forgot to remember to keep in touch. And now I can’t speak, I can’t phone. Your voice has gone. Lost. Not forgotten, but hard to remember.

Years go by, we were not close, but we understood each other. Now there is nothing. I have consolation, hubby, family and friends, but I’m so sad. Goodbye. That’s all I can think.

Bang!

I was cooking an evening meal and decided to open a bottle of rosĂ© brut wine to go with it. It was very warm in the kitchen, but I didn’t think much about it as I took the wine out of the fridge. I peeled off the foil round the neck and loosened the wire around the cork. Then I had to check the food, stir it, add herbs. Suddenly…

BANG!

The cork had come flying out of the bottle, wine started to bubble out of the bottle all over the kitchen counter. I had to mop it up. I think about a quarter of the bottle was gone! It just shows how hot it was. Next time the wine is staying in the fridge till the food is ready!

Hedgehogged!

My hubby just disturbed our hedgehogs nesting place in our shed. He put his hand on one of them and it spiked him! He didn’t know they were in there. He was trying to tidy the shed up. He also found that they had used a corner of the shed as a latrine. I’m not happy because he took our hoover out to clean up the shed! The hedgehogs were under bags of straw that we used to insulate the cat bed for the abandoned cat we look after.

They didn’t run out, just hunkered down, so he put the straw back in place. Hopefully they are here to stay!

Shock!

My hubby just opened the back door and started shouting ‘come here quick’, I rushed over, expecting to see the stray cat we feed by the back door. Instead there was a huge 🦔 Hedgehog. It was scoffing the cat food we had put out for the stray! It’s as big as a small cat. It rushed off into the night when it was disturbed. I know we haven’t had many slugs and snails lately despite the wet weather. Now I think I know why! Still a bit of a shock to see it in the middle of a city. As long as it keeps away from roads it should be OK.

Fell over..

I was trying  to help move a huge flower pot with an olive tree and a walnut tree growing out of it. My husband was  pulling the pot and I tried to push.. He pulled me over! I crashed into some plants luckily not the concrete. Im glad he was there! I realised I was OK with only a slightly bashed knee. But I don’t have the strength to get up that I once had. I was flailing around on the floor, like the dying fly dance from the 70s or 80s. I managed to turn to my knees then he hauled me to my feet. My knee is a bit sore but it’s the shock and surprise, you feel yourself topple, everything goes sideways. Then it’s shock that you are on the ground. Last time was because a chair leg broke. Then I broke a rib so I count myself lucky today. Its scary enough when you are a child and fall over, when you’re a middle aged, unfit female it can be frightening. X
