Curled round in sleep,
my hubby and the cat,
snoozing after tea.
Cat’s ears twitch,
hubby snores gently,
perfect peace for a while.
Resting at ease,
calm and relaxed.
Surely it can’t last?
Have to wait and see…
New paintings and regular art updates.

She’s just come I from outside, curled up, happy, waiting for a belly rub.
Most of the cats I’ve had are black and white. So called ‘tuxedo’ cats. I think they may be the ‘Jellicles’ cats from the poem by T S Elliott who wrote ‘Old Possums book of Practical Cats’ which the musical ‘Cats’ is based on. I can’t remember much of that poem but it does say something about Jellicles cats ‘dance by the light of the moon’?
Other cat poems in the book include ‘McCafferty the Mystery Cat’, ‘Gus: The Theatre Cat’ and ‘The Naming of Cats’. I think they are much better as poems than adapted as songs.

Washed sky
Below tree
Above bluebells
And soil.
Laced branches
Overlap ripples
Twisted leaves
Tie flowers
In knots
Brown soil
Gently wrapped
In moss?
Layers of colour
Knowledge
Immersed.

Off to bed I’d better go,
Not been sleeping well you know.
Now my head will hit the pillow,
Dreams arrive, and nightmares billow.
Give me sleep to round the day,
Make it sweet not cruel or fey.
A deep and dream less sleep I crave,
Like one beneath the very grave.
To wake anew to summers day.
And hope my hayfever keeps well away!
Something I found in my Facebook memories. I still have trouble sleeping. But it’s not THIS bad!

Fascinating flower
Full of passion
Enchanted star
Frilled and stellar
Surviving the coldull
Full faced like the sun
Blooming with mystery
Suffragette colours
Passionate
Strong.

We had to find shade!
The sun beat down through clouds
Fighting the atmosphere
Hunting my flesh
Sizzling and scalding
Burning flesh
So hot it hurt
Red skin turning bright
Feeling a glow
Feeling hot
No shivers
No chill
Hot and smarting
Summer arrives
Itch! Eyelashes scratch
Nose running
So fast
Doing 100 meter
Dash!
Red and bloodshot
The pollen high
A cloud of dust
Flowing in the sky
Need eye drops
Nose spray
Tablets too
You won’t beat me
Hay-fever, you!

The one thing that did disappoint me today was the pool, usually there are mounds and shapes of lots of different plants, but with the cold wet May we had things haven’t grown yet. Hopefully on our next visit it will be burgeoning with flowers and foliage.
Still we think we saw a couple of newts in the pond, together with goldfish and dark carp. The waterlilies are growing up and starting to spread. All in all it was a lovely early Summer day out.
Blue sky
warm water
goldfish swim lazily
mayfly dart across the surface
waterlilies open pale petals slowly
the world is calm
clouds float in an azure sky
contemplate
and relax.

Art can be anything
Anything if you experiment
Experiment and learn
Learn to try
Try to play.
Play with Art
Art….

The spring has almost gone
High summer peeps around the corner.
Blazing sun and full flowers
Are queuing to appear
Lazy days and blousy blooms
Heat haze over a lake
Birds throng with joyous songs
Now we can stay out late
Not worry about frosts and ice.
Till autumn blows in again…
