Who do you spend the most time with?
We have been together so long.
The hours turn into days
Then months and years
Two people glued together
Joined at the hip
You won’t see him
He is hubby, partner
He is anonymous here
But we are together.
One the shadow of the other
I know when he’s coming home
I can understand him
We will always be together…

I love these glass globes
Decorative and pretty
Curved beauty
Colours shimmer
Light refracts
Sunlight glints
And summer
Warms

He came in to sleep
Curled up, paw over nose
Relaxed, snoring
Sweet curves and purrs
Paws stretch,
Twitch and flick
Ears turning fast
What does he see?
In his rushing dream..
A do not disturb sign
Needed to let him sleep

See cloud man fly
As he floats by..
Oh my word! It’s been so dry,
There’s been no rain, I wonder why?
The clouds do roll across the sky
But squeeze them, they stay dry.
Most of May it wasn’t wet
Or if it was then I forget…
From sun-up to sunset!
High pressure domed
Across us roamed
Mild dry air
No rain to spare.
Just high uv
Sunburn you see
So let it rain
And rain again!

Seen today
Green trike, eagle head
On front mudguard
Long and low
Tandem seats
Lying back
How do you see
The road?
Chrome, black and green.

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.
He often sits up in the tree
Ot atop a chimney pot
He starts to sing
His voice raised
In skirls and slides
Whistles and trills.
Old blackbirds sing longer
And better, complications
Added each year.
Attracting and announcing
Territory and partnership.
His music gives me joy
Taking the time to listen
Releases peace,
Simple and sweet.

Glass paperweights.
Sunshine flows through them
Glints and shimmers
Terrarium and plant
Absorb the light
Green and red
Life grows
Daylight glows

Don’t dip your paintbrush
In your hot, sweet tea!
The colour isn’t good
And it makes stains
On your teeth
Or canvas
You can’t paint over
Makes it taste of oil
Or leaves a green scum!
I’ve often paled
On drinking ‘green’
Or ‘red’ tea!
Coffees the same
Not good
For me
Or thee!

Too many bad things
Drugs and war and poverty
Make me sad and weary
Fearful situations
Is it wrong to cocoon myself?
In a little room of kindness
I wish for peace in all things
Seeking
Calm repose
I want to help
Others get there too…
