Discussing memories

Memories blur

Like old photos

Frosted glass

You can’t see clearly

Stains on your mind

From painful memories

The edges curl up

Fade and twist

What you remember

Might not be true

People say things

Imply things

Change the way you think

Without understanding

Without caring

To fit their stories

Making their lives better

At your expense.

Go out and hold

Your memories tight

Save them like

Green shield stamps

To pay the ferryman

Later…

Life’s a maze

You can’t always navigate life in a straight line. Sometimes we search for treasure and cannot find it. There are side roads and cul de sacs that hold us up or block our paths. Sometimes that is our fault, sometimes it can be others. I think somehow you have to accept things and then carry on. It’s been a sad week and I’m not over it yet, but I’m coming to terms with it. I won’t go on about things, you just have to realise that there are people who are far worse off than you. Try and help them if you can x

Window view

Abstract ‘window’ for Sundays #bandofsketchers prompt. I did a black and white drawing, then added some cut outs of paper trees. I tried drawing over them because I wasn’t very happy with it. Finally used photodirector to change the texture. The cut out trees were meant to represent net curtains.

Art workshops

Today I went to some art workshops and learned a bit more about drama, mask making, puppetry, animation and making dioramas. From nine till five. The final section was to create boxes and make tiny landscapes inside them. Mine and a fellow artist created a swimming pool party, with a pool with gold edging, and columns. Lilos, deck chairs and cocktail umbrellas as sun parasols. We even added a jacuzzi!

Poe faced?

Take a photo of your face or someone else’s. Then cut down the middle and mirror both sides. If the person has a lopsided face the difference is obvious. Turning the images into two different faces. Apologies to my hubby for experimenting with his features!

Edgar Alan Poe had very lopsided features. Have a look on the Internet. X

Busy

I’m striving to finish my college essay. I’m two thirds of the way through and fighting with the ideas of semiotics, signs and signifies, interpretants, other words that fly over my head! I’m trying to tie it all together into a coherent whole. My brain hurts but I have till Thursday to finish it. So if I’m not around… Well you will know why!
