You look at me
What do you see?
Gazing out with your great
Green eyes.
Wide wise eyes,
Or evil eyed?
Which one will you be?
Your huge ego
May continue to grow.
Just be gentle
Don’t hurt me.

St Michael slaying a dragon type demon. I’m looking at the history of dragon images and illustrations as part of my college course. I was writing about the symbology and semiotics of dragons at three am. My mind is a little boggled, but I think I’m getting on top of it. Only a few thousand words to go. I definitely think blogging has helped my writing skills. Plus as I suffer insomnia it helps keep me occupied when I can’t sleep.

Ink bleeds through paper and shows up on the back of the page. I usually try and use pens that don’t do this, but sometimes you can see something, and create something new. I used to draw round different areas of colours in the past and I’ve done something similar here. Two cats…

I wanted this to look like the sky on Jupiter so I added scratch marks and textures. The sunshine reflected off the cloudbase adds to the eerieness.

Monoprint patterns in black acrylic, randomly cut up then layered. Photograph adjusted in the photodirector app on my phone. It feels a bit like layers of celtic knotwork I think. Maybe I should glue pieces down so that they can lift up and reveal different layers.

It’s worth a try. Using the postal system instead of digital media means there will be a physical object to show my objection to the war. Its a peaceful drawing. On the reverse I’ve written ‘from a concerned UK citizen, peace and love’.
I’m deliberately not using offensive language. I do not wish to be aggressive, I just remember that old film about Santa, where all the children send a letter through the US postal service, which proves Santa exists. Perhaps this might have a small effect.

Ukraine πΊπ¦ needs help, they need medical support because of all the death and destruction that Russia is causing in the country. One charity in Shropshire, England is sending ambulances over to them. They are slightly outdated and have been replaced by new ones but are perfectly suitable. The Disasters Emergency committee is collecting for Ukraine. This is group of charities supporting the people who need help. I hope Putin sees sense and stops this stupid war. Two million people have left as refugees now. God knows what will happen next.

My brain likes pattern and complexity. I cannot abide plain white walls with no embellishments. Even my writing can be flowery? Is it because I’m interested in all sorts of things? I’m very visual, and yet I can walk past a friend without noticing them! I don’t have that face blindness thing that some people have. I think my glasses frames sometimes blocks the view.
Life is so difficult in the world at the moment. I am feeling a bit low with everything happening. But I pick up a felt pen and draw and time FLIES so fast.
Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was cheap, so I did a sketch in felt pens of my hand and added cheap, cracking, nail polish. I added a digital filter to add to the effect.

Close up photo of a metal ring holder and a copper coloured stapler. It’s interesting what you can do with duplicated photos. I didn’t know it was going to look like this. It looks like architecture or a space ship with a distant galaxy reflected on the shining floor of the ship. I will play with some more images, juxtaposing different shapes, textures, and colours.
