My nose itches
Atishoo!
Green goo
I hate colds
Feeling old
When I sneeze
It shakes my knees
Makes me quake.
Shakes me awake…
Sneeze and snot
I feel hot…
Achy and tired.
Not what’s desired.
I need to sleep.
Not a peep…
No sneezes,
Please

My cat does not like his belly rubbing or tickling even if he lies like this! Tickle his chin, that’s fine. Try and give him a belly rub, and the claws come out. He has to be extremely relaxed for me to dare to tickle him. I’ve got lots of scratches and puncture wounds in the months after we got him. Now I know him, I keep my hands away from those claws. I think it’s like fishing, he tempts you close, then – pounce, he’s got the back of your hand or a finger. Ouch!

I’ve got his nose too long, his face needs to be slightly wider. The eyes need to be slightly further apart. I’ve got to work out if the mouth and chin are right. This is one of four possible commissions I’ve got. I’m not bad at portraits, but you have to be willing to change things and not stick with something if its not right.
I’ll leave it a few hours and then come back to it…..

I’ve got a few tiny canvases in for the next lot of pictures for craft tairs I’m doing. I’m seriously thinking about doing some more seasonal scenes, or autumnal ones. I may use reflective or metallic colours on them to give them a different feel.
The problem with getting canvases is that I can’t always get the size I want, they are not always well made, and sometimes the wood is so hard it’s difficult to put screws into them to put mirror plates on them. Also a lot of laces just sell box canvases. They are OK but they are very deep, so they are hard to frame so you have to paint the edges to make them look neat.
These are only small but I paint on even smaller matchbox sizes. I will post more photos when they are painted.

Glass pieces we just collected from Angela Ashtons glass workshop. The square pin trays are by my hubby and the smaller pieces are mine. They have been drilled so they can have chains or laces to turn them into necklaces.
I’ve enjoyed doing these and I hope I can do more in the future.

Yellow leaves are hanging on the pear tree. They haven’t fallen yet, the light is shining through them. Sits been sunny for the first time in days. Everything is sodden from the rain. Our stray cat is wandering around pouncing on fallen leaves.
This is my 27th drawing for the one inch drawing challenge for October. I’ve added colour for the first time with some Faber-Castell pencils. It’s only a touch because I was trying for a black and white theme until my black pen ran out of ink. Now I’ve moved over to biro.

He’s curled up,
Happy, warm, snug.
The stray cat outside has a box
Sleeps in the shed.
My cat sleeps where he likes.
So sad.
The stray needs a home,
A place to be warm.
My cat won’t accept him.
Looked for its owner..
Gone away.
Now it needs shelter,
While my cat is happy.
It’s time for the stray,
To get a warm bed…..
My dilemma is how to do it?

I live in the UK and the clocks are due to go back at two am tomorrow night, that means :
Advantage… Extra hour in bed
Disadvantage….. The sun sets an hour earlier. The winter blues set in. I hate it when the sun sets before 5pm. It takes ages for it to set later than that in the winter. It’s so depressing. Why? Because the Earth is tipped by about 23? degrees. That means in the winter the sun rises further south east, curves in an arc further south than in summer and sets further south west. The hours it is visible in the sky are less. (in the summer around here the sun can set about 11pm and rise about 3am!).
Cold and dark, shivering, chilly. Even now you can feel the year dwindling.
And… WORDPRESS changes from one day to the next at midnight. Not 1am as it does in the summer. That means I have an hour less time in the evening to post before the clock ticks into the next day….
Drat…
Part of the set up for the play we went to see were the cars. Old and new. My favourites were the Austin Maxi in mustard yellow, and the bright red Audi Quattro. Both were just inside the door as you came in, together with an old caravan. It set the scene so well. Fascinating.
The D Road is a play we went to see today about a woman affected by the D Road.

The D Road is a dual carriage way that runs through Stoke-on-Trent and joins with the M6 motorway North and south of the city making a D shape.
The play is written by Debbie McAndrew. The story unfolds as an elderly lady is frightened by a man hanging around her house. Her grandson catches him and demands to know what he is up to…. The answers change all their lives…
Very enjoyable. Put on inside the Meadows suite at Spode. It was quite cold as its an empty factory, so we were given blankets to keep warm. Very enjoyable.
