Well this is interesting, I have got to draw a picture using a few symbols based on my alphabet idea. (I had to choose different symbols to illustrate each letter of the alphabet). The challenge only allows me to use the symbols for three letters. I have to come up with an image based on the word betrothed….
It’s going to be hard to come up with an illustration to represent it.
I also have to draw something to the idea crocodile eggs….. I’m not sure what I will do! Wish me luck!

We visited a pub in September 2017 called the bleeding wolf which is on the A34 pub just North of Stoke on Trent in Rode Heath.
This is something I’ve missed doing in lockdown, just going out and visiting places outside the city. Enjoying the countryside. The feeling of freedom.
But even now I’m luckier than many people. I do have a home and food and water. I can afford to pay for things I need. I keep reflecting on how things could be so much worse here. I hope you are all safe and well.
High up in the atmosphere, close to space, Noctilucent clouds start to appear in the summer months. They glow an almost electric blue and are caused by sunlight reflecting off gas particles from meteors that have broken and burned up as they strike the earth’s atmosphere at high speeds. Over the last few years these clouds have become more common and scientists are investigating why.

Looking in and looking out, mirrored sky shining. The window frames flaking and peeling. Put through a mirroring filter and you find a floating tower. Could it be magic. What is art? Why is a photo? Can an image be trickery in a friendly way? Must it be cryptic.
See the world through an ant or a bees eye. See the world through the eye of a whale or a satellite.
Our vision is an average humans vision. At a cartain height, with colour vision like primates have. We don’t have slits in our pupils, or black and white vision. We don’t use echo location.
Photos are interesting to play with.

Texture and pattern. Today’s Urban sketchers challenge was drawing a souvenir so I drew a Thai woman and baby doll that my friend gave me. As I’m doing textures and symbols on my illustration course I decided to try out different marks to show the knitting on the cushion underneath the doll.
I have been doing a lot of pen and ink drawings lately, not using pencil or charcoal much. Maybe I should try some other techniques?

Ingredients,
About a table spoon of cooking oil,
Salmon fillet (or not for vegetarian)
1/2 aubergine, diced into small cubes,
1 courgette / zucchini, grated finely
1 sweet pepper cut into small squares
1/2 a can of chopped tomatoes
3 cloves garlic, crushed,
Spiral pasta, 2 handfulls
Method
Heat the oil in the pan, add the aubergine cubes, add the sweet pepper pieces, brown gently then add the grated courgette. Add the tinned tomatoes, mix and cook for a few minutes. Add the crushed garlic and the salmon on top of the mix, cook for a few minutes then turn the fish over. Lower the heat from medium low to low and gently simmer for about 5 minutes.
In the meantime put two handfuls of pasta (I had multi coloured spiral pasta in) with boiling water and cook on a medium heat till softened.
Drain and then add the pasta to the other pan. Serve the fish on top of the pasta and vegetables.
(I grate the courgette because it cooks quicker and makes the sauce feel thicker). You could add a squeeze of lemon juice.
The panel that lights up on our washing machine is not working. It’s just not lighting, so the touch activated panel won’t work. I can’t programme it. The dial next to it is beeping so it’s clear it is on, it’s so annoying. I wanted to get a wash done.. Nothing. So what do I do? I’m trying to get someone to come out. I don’t want to replace it. It’s a good machine. Replacing is expensive and wastes resources. Fixing saves money and you don’t have to throw the thing away. The problem is the lock down, but as non essential shops have opened we might be able to do something.

Having a massive thunderstorm. The rain was drumming on the kitchen roof and my hubby went outside to turn off the electric power outside.
The storm blew over about ten minutes ago but now it sounds like it’s coming back. You can work out the distance it is away from you by watching when the flash happens and then counting the seconds until the thunder rolls again. Every second is half a mile. So if you see the flash and count six seconds. Then the storm is three miles away. Anyway its come back again. About two miles away. The rain gives life I suppose, but everything is very wet now! The thunder I rattling the windows.. I was nodding off but the noise woke me up!
It was a bit chaotic, but fun. Questions included what whale and bridge have the same name (humpback). Who sang my boy lollypop (millie small), mimi was a character in which opera (la boheme). We were half a point in front at the end. It was a close run thing. Teamwork is so important. Seven teams, how can you have so much fun online? Did I say? We won!
