Abstract?

A pattern of splodges and marks in ink and paint. What can I turn it into if I draw over it? I’m not sure, it might be a series of faces, eyes, animal heads. People dancing. Whatever is there I will try and find it.

There is a friend of mine on Facebook who creates art from patterns like ghus. She calls it Shibui Found Art. She creates wonderful pictures, maybe I can try and do something with this.

Three minute cat

Cat I drew at the start of march. I used an ink roller that you can blot out addresses with. I would have done more of these but the cat decided to play with the roller and I think it’s been knocked under a cupboard. I will have to try and find it. Sometimes the simplest experiments work well.

I noticed the letters on the roller are Greek, I don’t know why? If you tip it on one side you can achieve thin lines and also get some curves.

Cat helping me draw!

Oh yes! She tried to get my pen and rubbed her head along my sketchpad. I took a blurry photo and then drew this. Sometimes the paw comes up and she tries to grab my pen. Eyes staring at the tip of it. What fun… Maybe she was an artist in a past life!

Last day of April, almost the end of this semester, but I think drawing something every day has really improved my skills. Looking back at last year’s work before I started college I can see how my mark making has changed. Practice is definitely good for Art.

Flats

I used off cuts from my sketchpad to create windows for this picture. The orange lights are from post it notes and the green is another lot of post-it’s that I folded and glued to give a feeling of branches. The black was achieved with an ink roller that can be used to blank out addresses on letters when you want to dispose of them.

Don’t Get Scammed!

Tiffanyarpdaleo has shared her experience of someone trying to defraud her. It makes interesting and helpful reading.

I almost fell for a scam today! 😞😞😞 I want to share my story in case it happens to you, beware!

A person messaged me through Instagram saying they really wanted to purchase my painting Split Personality, of course I was elated!

“Split Personality” the almost SOLD painting!!

After a couple of exchanges, she agreed on the price and shipping costs and she asked for my email so she could send me money via PayPal, very eagerly, I noticed.

Immediately after I gave her my email, I got a text from PayPal with a code that said “do not share this with anyone” then, she texted me asking for that code! 🤔 Then, she started calling me, through the Instagram app, pressuring me for the code. I didn’t answer. This is not my first rodeo!

If I had given her that code, she would have wiped out my bank…

Gone to a good home

My friend is happy x

Just delivered this to my friend. She is really happy with the necklace I made. The others have gone to the Waiting Room gallery in Longport, Stoke-on-Trent. They are having an open day on Saturday along with Cherished Chimneys across the road from there. I like the way it lies flat, the wire weaving looks really neat and the colours look good together.
