Blurred

Image blurred

I sang in the opera choir and the photos of us singing are now out on the website. People gave permission to be photographed but I don’t have that permission so I have blurred out their images. What a strange world we live in where we can delete or smudge out images if people we don’t want or require? The world changes quickly.

My cats are not photogenic!

Mum why are you waving that slab of plastic in my face? I can’t see you because it’s in the way? Your eyes are always on it. Hunched over it. At least when you used a keyboard I could walk over that and sit on it and make lo[[[tttttttttttttttttttssssss of letters with it!

Mum do stop with your hands on the front of it! I want you to look at me, stroke my nose, rub my head, tickle my ears.

Oh you are not interested? Then I’ll look the other way…

The universe

What are you curious about?

Infinity or beyond? The universe is around 13.5 billions of years old. It could continue for billions or trillions of years into a heat death ending. Cooling down and expanding forever. Or it might collapse in a backwards big band and a singularity.

I’m not a scientist but my interest was piqued by watching the BBC TV series “The Sky at Night”, I started watching in the 1960’s when Sir Patrick Moore presented it. I loved the old fashioned animations of how things worked. It was well before the time of CGI or computer animation.

I keep watching the 20 minute show monthly, over the years, finding out about comets, eclipses, meteor showers and meteorites. I still try and catch it all these years later. I’m interested in finding out about dark matter and quantum lensing. I hope the programme continues for years to come.

Orchid

I didn’t notice but one of my orchids has flowered. Not a good photo, lots of camera shake. You can just see there are a few lower buds yet to open.

Today I got soaked walking 100 yards to choir practice. I can’t drive and I struggle to manage with a walking stick and a brolly, so I left it behind It was drizzling when I went out but it came down heavy as I walked along. So much so it was raining into my eyes. I was told not to get water in my eye that had been operated on. I avoided doing it in the shower but unfortunately the weather got the better of me. Still I have antibiotic eye drops to put in.

Which reminds me I’d better water the orchids.
