Even cats have to have vaccine booster shots. It was probably the hottest day this year and my two cats had got to go to the vets. Both had been out all day. They hate pet carriers so I got the female in a closed bag and took her to the vets. They inoculated her but warned me to get her home straight away as she was overheating in the bag.
I got home and she ran upstairs and flopped so I put her some cool water near her if she wanted a drink.
Then we explored the garden, where the boy cat was lying under a bush. We’d put a bag of frozen peas in the bag to make sure it was cooler. Back to the vets. They were happy that the second cat wasn’t overheating. We got home and let the boy out of the bag, he sprang out, but as you can see him flopped on the carpet. He has now gone back outside. X

Playing with a photo app, you can change the texture/lines of a drawing, add the drawing to a photo they provide and even add text. I like how the cat in my drawing is looking down on the street. He’s haughty and aloof.

A couple of cat paintings I did for a friend in 2018. The first was a work in progress. I don’t have a photo of the completed painting. I love painting cats, and any other animals. I’ve got a dog painting in progress then I’ve got to paint some purple crabs, that might be interesting! By the way the pink is a chair cover, not part of the paintings.

I was sitting watching TV when I saw a man’s head looking over our side gate so I tried to open the front door and ask him what he was doing. The door was locked so I called my hubby. He went out and followed the man up our hill. When he caught up with him the man explained he was a motorcyclist and had recently had his bike stolen.
My hubby decided he probably wasn’t a thief and the man was contrite. Then…..
They both spotted a budgie fluttering on the pavement. I was standing at the bottom of the street and saw him take his tee shirt off?
He walked down the hill and explained he’d found a beautiful budgie. He had it gently held in the tee shirt.
Next we tried taking it to the pdsa vets nearby but they were closed so I found their number and rang it. After a brief conversation with their emergency vets in Meir Heath they agreed to take it.
We then had to get the budgie into a suitable container. Luckily I’d got a brown paper bag, but while I was trying to shoo one of our cats away the budgie got free!
We had to get the cat away and I threw a tea towel over the budgie. Popped it in the bag, safe and apparently healthy. Then off to Lyme tree vets at Meir Heath. Tel: 01782 417882.
If its yours I hope you will soon be reunited.

He looked out of the window and watched the sun set, clouds filled the sky, another night to go roaming. He started to get ready. A quick wash and brush up and he was out of the back door. Walking down the alley between the houses until he got to the side road.
He was standing by the bins, waiting for his mate when he heard a scuffing behind him. He turned and saw a shape rushing off, without thinking he gave chase. Fast over the cobbles, he was as fit as he’d ever been. But the dark figure was faster. He felt his heart thudding as he reached the other end of the alley. The figure was a yard away, he jumped and made a grab for it…..
The cat came in through the cat flap, a mouse moustache. Proud of his hunting skills.

He is a bit of a nervous cat but when he’s in a good mood he purrs really loudly. He puts a paw out and touches my hand or arm. He will rest his head on my hand now, and then he starts to snore!
I appreciate his love and I think he appreciates ours. We are lucky to have built a friendship with this cat which was abandoned by his previous owners a few years ago. I hope he stays with us for a long time.

My cats have decided to play with my socks instead of the toys I get for them. They don’t use the balls that light up, or the striped mouse, or an octopus with feathers (don’t ask). No it’s socks, socks, socks and the occasional underpants! Mostly they play a bit and then sit on them… Keeping their paws warm no doubt.
This is the two boys, one indoor, the other outdoor, although really they are both now. Both are friendly with each other and our girl cat. They get on quite well and don’t fight, there is the occasional paw raised, but if I tell them off they stop. I do love them.

Rescued a mouse from the cat tonight. All day the cats had been stalking something, paws under the vacuum cleaner. But when I moved it there was nothing visible. Then tonight.. Squeak! The cats were there and a frightened little mouse popped it’s head out for a second…. What to do. The vacuum cleaner was by the kitchen door. Couldn’t trap it with a cup or a box. So we both slowly rolled the cleaner into the kitchen, slowly across the floor, then slowly to the back door. The cats had been chased upstairs so we carried on until we got to the cat flap. Result! The mouse ran up and out. I hope the cats don’t bring any more ‘presents’ in!
