Late night thoughts…
Half a tray
For the first time since he came home my cats managed to eat soft solid cat food (he’d been drinking water and cat milk and yesterday he had cat pate and cat soup mixed together) . He’s tried eating his regular biscuits but struggled as they were too hard for his sore mouth.
Overall he still looks a mess, but I’m really pleased to see an improvement. I’m proud of him. X
Cat update
My cat is making slow progress but I hope he’s on the mend. He went missing the Wednesday before last and came back on Thursday. He was gone eight days. His paws and legs were covered in a tarry substance. He had hurt his mouth and has an ulcerated eye.
He has eye drops and antibiotics, he’s only able to eat soft food (not much) because of his mouth. He’s always been fussy over food so it’s hard to get him to eat anything. I’ve tried pate type cat foods, cat soup, soft and tiny bits of meat (sorry any vegetarians).
It’s taking time to nurse him so I might not be here much over the next few days. X
Cats eye
Our cat has been to the vets and was kept in overnight. He’s home but among other problems he’s got an ulcer on and inside his eye, it looks very cloudy. He’s on antibiotics and two types of drops. All have to be given at different times (one eye drop four times a day, one eye drop three times a day) antibiotics every twelve hours….
He’s also damaged his soft palette, possibly trying to bite his way out of where he was trapped?
And then his kidney functions are off. I hope he will recover. We will know more after the weekend…
The vets
Today has been busy. My cat came home at 3am, his legs and mouth had some sort of tarry substance on them. He came in and drank water for about ten minutes, then I wiped his eyes and mouth and legs gently to remove some of whatever was on him. I even trimmed some fur off his tail because it was so gummy.
Today I had a good look at him, one of his eyes looked strange and he was still very thirsty so I took him to the vets.
I found out he has an ulcer on one eye and he has damaged his mouth possibly from trying to bite through or on something. He’s lost a lot of weight too. We still don’t know where he’s been. Tonight he’s on a drip at the vets but he should then be able to come home. I hope he will be OK.
He’s Back!
He’s back! Came in 3am, very thirsty, covered in dirt. Smells of smoke? I’ve looked him over, now cleaning him gently. Will take him down the vets in the morning for a check over but I just want him to rest now.
He’s really dirty. I think he must have been stuck somewhere. He’s a bit whezy so I’ll take him to the vets later…
Purring cat
While I miss one of my cats, I still have to look after the other two. They want attention. Jumping up to see us. But neither are as ‘touchy feely’ as the missing one. A little cuddle and they are off. To get food and drink. To mooch about on the stairs or outside. My heart strings are being pulled left and right.
I miss my old boy cat….
Installation frustration
Three hours wasted!
I had to buy a new printer/scanner because I couldn’t get the ink for my old one. So I thought I’d upgrade.
Big mistake! I started reading the instructions, popped in the disc to upload the new info. Then I put paper in and opened up the printer to install the inks. So far so good…
But, I clicked on a link on the screen and wondered why the WiFi setting on the printer looked like my old printer control screen? Still I did what it said and then decided to try and print. You guessed, there was an error linking up the computer and the scanner.
OK, I decided to link it up with a USB cable because the WiFi appeared not to be working. No joy. So I read the instructions a bit more and you had to press a WSP button on your router to get the computer to pick up the signal. I came downstairs and found the button. Pressed it, so it flashed. Back upstairs… Signal strength not strong enough. So I looked at the instructions, went back a few pages and set it for USB again, and working offline.
Then, I looked at the instructions again. Why was it showing the old control panel??!!
I realised that the disc had not whirred, it hadn’t installed. I’d wasted two hours! So, feeling foolish, I booted it up.. It said do this and that (already done) then do something else, yes, done. OK it seemed to be working. I checked the printer pattern. The printer whirred and a sheet of paper came out… Blank! Invisible ink? I tried cleaning the printer head. Nothing. I took the ink cartridges out. Their bases were pierced and I could hear ink sloshing… Strange. I rang the shop. They didn’t know what was happening so I said I would go back in the morning.
So.. I have a printer with ink, that is linked to the computer. But despite three hours, it won’t print, there is ink and paper, but the ink isn’t flowing!
Grrr, I want to print leaflets about my cat… And I’m stuck.
Leaflets
I decided o do some leaflets about my cat, which was fine till the printer ran out of ink! I went in the computer shop only to find out they don’t stock that ink anymore. Grr
So I diligently delivered over thirty leaflets. I had to fill in gaps in the ettering where it had not printed properly.
I’ve removed his name and my phone number as this is being shared in public. You have to be so cautious about sharing information. I just want my cat back.
