He sleeps on the floor
Next to the couch
On the edge of a throw
Curled happily
Asleep near my feet.
Cats choose to be comfy
Snuggled up in a ball
Wherever they want to
Relaxed and sweet.

Digital drawing I did ten years ago. I’m not sure which website I drew it at. I think there are still some sites that allow you to draw independently, but most seem to be limited in what you can do, like editing photos or colouring in areas, or making patterns. I looked online but the types of site seem to be quite limited. If you know of any site that I can draw on let me know? (I’m also mainly drawing on my phone so the memory I can use is limited).

My purse on my chair which I’m using as an easle. Paintings to the side and behind, pallette underneath it. Digitally manipulated. I just thought it looked interesting. The cat really has a strong stare. The way it’s crumpled makes it looks like it’s frowning. I don’t know whether anyone would actually like something like this?

Does she have to?
Looking up
Reaching out
Claws extended
A cat smile on her face
Eyes start to close
Claws in
Pull and stretch away from me
Claws graze my knee
through the cloth
Of my trousers
Tail waving in joy
Then off to seek food!

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was North. I decided to draw a design for a weather vane that points North. I thought I’d rather draw this rather than someone standing at the North Pole. Either that or a compass could have been a choice. Felt pen drawing in my sketchbook.

The cats on my lap. Firmly attached. I can’t move without pushing him off. My leg is going numb! He doesn’t normally stay this long, but I think he’s keeping warm. It’s quite overcast and cool for a May evening.
As soon as I wrote this my hubby walked past, knocked my foot and the cat jumped off my lap and ran upstairs! Just proves nothing stays the same, now I’m missing the cat, and my warm leg is cold!

Today’s #bandofsketchers prompt was monument. I was going to draw the Duke of Sutherlands monument near Trentham Gardens. But then I came across this stone I painted as a memorial to my cat about fifteen years ago. This bought back memories of a lovely intelligent cat. Must repaint it.

He got a bit of a scratch on his nose from somewhere. I’ve wiped it with some washing up liquid and salt water. He’s a big cat but gentle. He doesn’t fight much, just stays still and sometimes gets scratched. The look in his eyes is very loving. I think he’s a really sweet cat, but slightly bonkers! He purrs loudly at my other two cats and they all get on together. X

I don’t want a mouse
Or a frog
Bought in alive
To scurry or croak.
Caught with a fishing net
For goldfish
And put out again.
I don’t want that bee!
Keep it for yourself
Or a wasp
You surreptitiously
Sneak in
For my pleasure
Take that shrew away
At least hedgehogs are spiky
So they won’t be dropped
At my feet
With a smug purr!
There you go!
Here’s my rent!

Cats come in,
Cats go out,
Paws leave prints
Mud, earth, water,
Cats eat
Cats sleep
Make your home
Their territory.
They take over
your chair
Your bed
Your keyboard
Your larder.
