Seen on my walk
Two melting snow people
Holding hands
Waiting to collapse
To pass from this world
As a puddle
On a concrete drive.
Who will mourn them
Gone and forgotten.
Meltwater in an urban street.
New paintings and regular art updates.

When life gives you lemons
Leave them to rot
Forget lemonade
I like it, not!
When life gives you lemons
You know its getting sour
Your feeling down
And your temper is dour.
When life gives you lemons
Have a good cry
Remember that all of us
Are born to die.
When life gives you lemons
Make something nice to eat
Pancakes with sugar and lemon
Really do taste sweet!

This was used as a prop in the local village hall pantomime a few years ago. The hat was a large teacup and saucer made out of wire and paper and glue. Once it was made I had the task of painting it with a classic spode pattern of Greek or roman figures. I might have some more photos somewhere, but this gives you an idea of what I was painting. It was held in place on the panto dames head with a big blue ribbon and bow. I miss rehearsals for the yearly panto. It was restored about ten years ago after several years absence. The largest ausiencevwe had was 180, and we do four performances over Thursday, Friday and two on a Saturday. I miss the stage fright and the fun. We used to do the performances in February to coincide with the school half term.

Just at the bottom of this picture is the inner door catch of my car. I’d been out to the shop and when I got back I tried to open the door, and it snapped off in my hand! I had to get someone to open the door from the outside. I called the AA (automobile association) and they came out quickly. But all they coukd do was thread a cable tie round the pinion inside the door… Now I can pull on a bit of plastic, and if that doesn’t work lower the window and pull the catch on the outside… Hopefully I will be able to manage until the catch is replaced!

Oh, I don’t know what is wrong with me, I just feel sad. I’m fed up with things, the cat has got another appointment at the vets. I think I need to see them too! My shoulder aches, although the exercises I’m doing really are helping. I just want to talk to someone new, or an old friend, but I don’t want to bother them with my worries. I find myself staying indoors, keeping myself to myself, ignoring my hubby who comes up with grandiose ideas and I can’t keep up with him. Anyway enough moaning… Take care everyone. Have a good weekend.

unfortunatley I only have this small file of a painting I did at college over forty years ago. It was a painting of a fellow student called Ann. I was really pleased with it and only parted with it because a friend really wanted it, I also gave my ‘friend’ a few other paintings for Christmas and birthdays. I found out later my ‘friend’ and her husband burnt them on a bonfire because he did not like them. Suffice to say I am no longer friends with her. I cant tell you how upset I was when I found out….
Oil on canvas about 1981?

Red flower
Green stem
Subtle shadows
Small vase
White wall
Old photo
Memory
Shriveled
Wilted
But recalled
Recollected

They are wilting…

Every day they are declining, wilting, leaves and flowers crumpling. We still haven’t had a frost but we have had cold rain.
Once they are gone we won’t have flowers till April or May. A few plants might be able to overwinter. I’m still thinking of getting some winter flowering pansies and a few cyclamen.
The main decline is amongst the plants are the begonias, their soft stems hold lots of water but I think their cells are only thinly walled and they split in the cold weather. Fushias are stronger, their woody stems hold out against the cold….
And then I’ve got baby raspberries… Weird!

Bad word… Fleas. My poor cat is allergic to them and sadly because we have been letting the outdoor cat in he’s been affected by them. So I took him to the vets and he’s had to have a steroid injections and a course of tablets. Now I’ve come home with a new flea treatment that works better than the one I’ve been using for the last couple of years. I’ve also got a treatment for the outdoor cat. So fingers crossed. Meanwhile my boy cat has got to wear this cone of shame, and it’s not his fault, it’s nothings fault…

Craft stalls are not happening at the moment but I’m not that good at doing them, but I do miss them. Not only talking to fellow stall holders, but catching the eyes of people passing by and saying hi, hello, how are you?
I’m not good at selling, I get nervous, I don’t want to push. I don’t like being false and over friendly. I could start selling things on line, but they would have to be bespoke, I can’t make thousands of objects.
Currently I’m trying to come up with ideas for a 3d artefact for my college course. I have an idea that I might be able to make or get manufactured. But I need to think about sustainability and ecological issues. Got to do a presentation tomorrow. Wish me luck!
