New paintings and regular art updates.

My sisters birthday present to me. A crochet blanket which I think will live on the back of the sofa. Bright, colourful, joyous. Stripey….
I think I might display it horizontally. I already have two green blankets which I’m putting on our arms chairs. It should be a riot of colours in here!
Thanks sis!

The bright reflection of my orchid plant in a glass covered picture my friend gave me. It’s a close up and it stands out because of the darkness of the surrounding area.. The pink, blue and green stands out bright and clear. I wish my phone camera could reproduce images more clearly when you zoom in. But it was worth taking the photo.

The candles blew out OK but then continued to smoulder. So I pinched the wicksย between my fingers as I thought it would set off the smoke alarm. Also the cat was making a move to jump down from the cupboard top.
What am I doing, watching TV, eating a small slice of cake and drinking prosecco. We had Thai green curry with seabass for our evening meal. Now my hubby is sitting with a glass of wine in one hand and a bottle of lager in the other!
It’s been a funny day, went to bed late (4.30am) and got up late. I have been posting things about it on the book of face… Isn’t it funny, I would never have considered doing that in the past. What a thing social media is…
Well I might post few other things today…

I got some of my necklaces back from a gallery that closed down last week. Most of them are quite chunky. I had a few small ones that were being made (my friend does wire weaving) but with the lockdown I haven’t been able to get some of them back.
I promised a couple to friends and I’m very disappointed they haven’t been able to have them yet. It’s only because of covid 19 that I haven’t been able to pass them on.

Watching an old film from 1964. I can’t remember the title, it’s what they used to call a ‘kitchen sink’ drama. They were much more slow paced than modern films, but with a lot more content and thought. They make you question the reality of how people used to live.
As I watch I can see that it will probably end in tragedy. Callous men and downtrodden women. Emotions and complications. Sadness and worry….

Ow, washing my hands all the time, washing up, cleaning, my hand, particularly my right one is getting very sore. I use the mildest of detergents, but something in them makes my skin bubble up and peel.
I try using hand cream but it doesn’t help much. I wonder what I can do. Find something with aloe Vera? Or coconut milk? I need something. I can’t use steroid cream. Sorry to moan!

A few months ago we were regularly going out for walks. Now I stay in as much as I can. My health problems mean that I have to be very careful.
As people have stopped visiting places there have been less disturbances for nature. Apparently there have been less casualties of baby birds like ducklings. Boats are not travelling up and down rivers and washing out birds nests. There may be more Grebes and Moorhens this year than for the recent past.
I don’t begrudge my walk if it means nature gets its turn!

I did a drawing of some of my hats a couple of days ago, now you can see I have more than my fair share of them! Time for a cat in the hats comment I think. Of course this is missing the caving helmet and a santa hat…..
Very random!
