The boat is probably about 90 years old? The painting of my hubby is about forty years old. You know you are getting on when things you own start to age with you!
Time passes, faster it seems as you get older. Ten years just flew by. I have so much stuff that I have collected over the years. I wish it was displayed beautifully… But its not.
The candles blew out OK but then continued to smoulder. So I pinched the wicks between my fingers as I thought it would set off the smoke alarm. Also the cat was making a move to jump down from the cupboard top.
What am I doing, watching TV, eating a small slice of cake and drinking prosecco. We had Thai green curry with seabass for our evening meal. Now my hubby is sitting with a glass of wine in one hand and a bottle of lager in the other!
It’s been a funny day, went to bed late (4.30am) and got up late. I have been posting things about it on the book of face… Isn’t it funny, I would never have considered doing that in the past. What a thing social media is…
Well I might post few other things today…
I went to Germany on a wine tasting visit in the 1990’s. It was overland and by ferry, so it took about twelve hours on the coach. Plus I had a bad cold, so it wasn’t the best trip. However I enjoyed it and bought home a German glass. I got that and a small cookoo clock to bring home as souvenirs. One man that travelled with the tour was convinced we had gone over the border into East Germany. He was quite strange. We were actually going to the Rhine area.
We went in the autumn and the trees were changing colour, we went along the mosel River and sampled ‘qualitatswein mit pradicat’ if I remember correctly. The sun set an hour earlier because we were in a different time zone. We enjoyed a trip on a river boat, and to a winery. The steep valleys and winding roads were spectacular.
On our way back we watched the film ‘the hunt for red October’ on the coach TV’s that was the first, and last time I have watched TV while travelling.
