Skies and mirrors,
sun and snow.
Branch and leaf,
Christmas views.
Winter shining
light and star,
Moonlit glowing
Glimmer far.
Powdered frosts
Mackerel skies,
Blue and white,
Black, green and grey.
Reflected world
Earth settled,
serene
seen
See.
New paintings and regular art updates.

Why can’t I get things done?
I think and think,
Decide, then change my mind.
I wait till the time seems right,
Then miss acting on it.
Why? because I spend time thinking.
Then I think again…….
Too much to do, too little time?
But if I just started early…
Wasn’t so desperate to be perfect.
Took less thought and acted sooner.
Maybe then I could
Get
Things
Done!
But now…
I’m not lazy, not crazy, just hazy…
Stuck!

Time to drink?
Drink from a bowl? No,
Drink from a cup? No
Drink from a dish? No
The bath, it has to be the bath.
She sits and waits,
For me to put the plug in
Fill the bath slightly,
So she can drink…

My stats are plummeting,
I’ve sunk so low,
Life just got busy
My words don’t flow.
My stats have shrunk
My work rate slowed,
I have no time,
To carry this load.
I have to paint,
To carry and fetch,
Real life impinges
I feel a wretch.
Perhaps one say soon
I will catch up and say.
Today I have time,
To rest, write and play.

Bright poppies shine,
Glow with sun
Grow so red,
Buds stretch and burst.
Dehissance it might be called?
Or is that leaf fall?
Something like that,
There is a word…..
Turgid petals push out and open,
Colour shoots out
Shocks
Surprises
Cheers!
The sun crept up and sideways,
Falling West And South,
Skirting tree branches and
Hopping over leaves.
Each minute, slightly higher,
Each second slightly across to South.
As the Sun reaches its Zenith
It falls behind low clouds,
Grey mist rising,
Now its afternoon.
Already going dark and freezing,
Sunrise forgotten in the crepuscular light.
Grey day on the canal,
Leaves float,
Cygnets shelter from the rain.
Boats huddle near the bridge,
Wrapped in old tarpaulins.
Smoke drifts up from stoves
that sit below the water levels.
Tea kettles boil and whistle,
Stained hands make a brew,
wiping off excess oil on grubby teacloths.
Leaves create mosaics of moist greens and browns.
Trees splinter into the sky,
Bursting like fireworks
But wet black,
No sparkle
Just grey, wet, dank…
And beautiful.

I am tired, like a sleeping cat,
Curled up on my chair,
Snuggled with a hot chocolate,
Soft slippers,
Cardigan.
Ready to snooze.
Long day at the fair,
Concentration, talk, natter, chatter.
Sell this, try to sell that.
Be polite, be thoughtful, be considerate.
Now it’s time to rest,
Do my best,
Have to sleep,
Tired.

Sitting on a raft.
One flew off
Then there were three.
Three cormorants
flapping their wings.
One dived deep…
Then there were two..
Two cormorants
Eating all the fish
One fell in
Then there was one.
One cormorant
Sitting all alone…
Sank to the bottom
Just like a stone…
