I live on my screen
Hunched over my phone
Watching predictive text
Scoot by.
Ignoring my world
Lost in a haze
Then mugged by my cat,
Sat on my laptop…
Never ending clicks
Virtual dope?
Addicted to screens
Losing all hope…
New paintings and regular art updates.

There once was a man in the moon
Who wove a big rug on a loom
With stars and with craters
Where he planted his ‘taters
In moon dust they met their doom!

A description…
odd combination
A monkey crying
a lion in a captains cap
Wellington boots
Across the sea..
A boat with cargo
Two life belts
Sails and steam stack
Religious icon and weeping people.
Tree of life,
Amidst it all,
an orange oaf.
Long blond mullet?
Photo from a ceramics event,
Last year,
Challenging history,
Walking backwards
To disaster?

Star twinkle
Glowing up there
Are you a sun, moon or planet.
Shooting through the black
High above the horizon?
Meteor or satellite,
Asteroid, or comet?
Seen in a telescope
Or by naked eye.
It’s all fascinating,
Building blocks
Of a solar system
Galaxy,
Universe.
From big bang,
To slow heat death.

Something cold
Something blue
Strong winds
Cold showers
Gale force time
Leaves off the trees
Strewn on the ground
Kicking them round.
Run through the mounds
Of yellow and gold
Reds and russets
Spiralling down.
Crisp and clear
Frost on the way,
Sparkling blue skies
Or raining all day.
Overcast with clouds
Grey and misty
Fungi are found
Surrounded by mystery.
Soon will be winter
End of bright colour
Till spring
Comes again
In showers and bluster.

How did you get up there?
I’d like to know?
Did you fly.
we’re you blown?
Did someone drop you
From a plane
Or parachuted
Thrown by a base jumper?
High up
Like a seed, swirled
Into the air currents
Green Square shape,
Points on corners
are leaves.
Who cares?
You are there….

Sleep
Sixteen hours
Curled
Curved
Paws over nose
Twisted
Tummy stretch
Yawn
Pounce
Sleep again
Dreaming
Twitch
Warm
Purr
Pure love.
Seen it all before,
Eyes closed,
And repeat,

Warm and soft
Gently sleeps
On my knee
Feel it’s breath
Happy purring
Curled up, warm,
Paw stretched out,
Tail wrapped round,
Pinning me down!
Caught in a soft embrace
Of fur and claws!

That pineapples looking sad,
Spotted leaves are wilting
It looks like it’s ripened
I must carve its flesh
Before it’s too late
Sweet yellow and sharp
Shall we have custard or cream?
Or just plain and succulent?
Last time we had one..
Ten years. Fifteen
Really..
Looking forward to it.
But is the pineapple?

Playing with the horse drawing I did, changed the colours and duplicated it.
Racing
Prancing
Jumping
Breathing hard
Steam from its nostrils
Over the paddock
Along the gallops
Over the south downs
Faster and faster
Through the tidal waters
Into the night
Into the moonlight
Canter and gallop
Trot
Walk
Home and rest
