Yes it’s a fence…
Sunset scene,
Sky and clouds,
Metal railings
Holds us out.
Grass is green
The weather, clear
A place to walk,
But only accessed
By those that know
The way in,
Where to go?
An alleyway
Or footpath, so
Take a step
And find your way.
Enjoy the ending
Of the day.
And the year turns. I know when we are past the shortest day when there is still light in the sky at after 5pm. It cheers me up.
Daylight
Delights me
Brightens my mood
Makes me smile
Despite the cloud
Banked up
With rain or sleet
Awakens my spirit
Woken from sleep.
I might sleep till spring
Curled up and snug
Warm in my bed
Like a tidy ladybug
The sheets white like snow
Blue shadowed and dug
Deep into the duvet.
Then come springs light
Warm sun so bright
I’ll yawn and awake
Like blossom burst forth,
But till then I’ll wait
And keep warm.
Swanning around
The Swan swam
Peaceful and proud
Sheltered from the wind
On a cold lake.
Pale ink and white
Flowers exploded like a rocket
Amaryllis is a firework
Of a plant…
Water it well
And stand back!
From a tiny tip
Of a leaf
Two weeks ago,
This grew and bloomed
Water is the key
Pour it on
And the plant expands.
But once grown
Reduce, reduce
Too much water
Can rot the roots…

It spins
It turns
It twists
It whirls
So fast
If you look up
The heavens
Shine above.
A day
A night
The moon
So bright
Over the world.

A fringe of twigs

On the table,
In the washing machine??
On my lap, purr….
On my laptop!
On a silk blouse,
In the car?!
