Lashings of toast
Slurping of tea
Having a snack
Just for me
Butter on bread
Melted and soft
Strong cuppa to go
With hot toast you see.
New paintings and regular art updates.

Lashings of toast

Just for me
Butter on bread

Strong cuppa to go
With hot toast you see.

Almost a year
Time has moved on
From when I heard
That you were gone
The Earth around the Sun
That shone
Has turned full circle
And flown on
Around the galaxy
So that now
We cannot ever
Return anon.
Still raw my thoughts
Reach back in time.
I miss you so
Hence this Bad rhyme
I hope that if you were to glance
At this mad poem
You’d laugh and prance
And tell me ‘chill!’
Take no heed
We must survive
Old life’s sad dance!

The cats run out
It’s cooler under the trees
Where the breeze blows
Sleeps in the bushes
In the shade of green
They come in for food
Then scarper away
Before I can catch
Up with them
27 °C or more today
Too hot for cats…

Flower or Sun?
Sunflower fun
Digitally drawn
Edited with love
Playing with colour
To make it less bright
Always experiment
Like a digital atom
Exploring it’s orbit
A phantasm of heat.

In my dreams I’ve flown to Mars
Months in space beyond our globe.
Spinning microgravity ship
Holds me in its gentle arms
Final days and then descent
Falling through a cold thin air.
Retro rockets saved the day
Landing on a desert of red.
Never going there again
Cost too much and I’m afraid
I’d never spend another night
On Elesyums Planitia’s slopes of red
I’d rather spend my dreams in bed.
An astronaut? Not me, I’ve said.

The sun rise is later every day
The birds still wake and sing
At the same time
Their day stretches
From wing tip to wing tip
Music soaring before the sun
Even when night is darkest
Before the dawn
They know to sing…
The liquid notes of the robin
Pierce the night.

The sun shone today
It didn’t rain
The flowers were glorious
Their colours fine.
Washing dried on the line
Reflecting brilliant white
Light onto petals
Giving them a glow
Of bright orange and pale lavender
To remember this day.

Curled up, warm
Asleep again
He makes his bed
And lies on it.
Comfortable and safe
Neat fur, aligned
With patterned covers.
Crochet and Cat
Cheery view
Asleep and snoring.

There’s a chill in the air
And it’s only September
Autumn already
Shorter days
Longer (cold) nights
I will not switch on
The dreaded boiler
Until my lips and fingers
Pinch in the cold.
Layers of clothes
Must be the answer.
Use the cat as a blanket.
Coats on the bed
I remember that
When I was a child.

Blue
I don’t recognise you
I don’t know what you are
Bright blue flower.
