Don’t undersell?

I’m a bad person! I try and sell things at a reasonable price, but then I like being nice to people and I often haggle myself down on prices! It’s like I’m at a car boot not a craft fair. Help! But I can’t employ someone. Got to do it for myself…

I think everyone should have the opportunity to have art if they want it, and forget that people have to make a living out of it. I will not be winning business woman of the year…

While I was stall sitting I did a quick sketch of people around a stall across the way from me. There are some lovely things for sale. On the whole I’m enjoying myself.

Stoke Minster.

This afternoon, after singing with the curiosity choir, a scratch choir made up of two choirs I’m in and members of the public, I visited a craft fair at Stoke Minster in Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent.

It’s a beautiful victorian church, it’s basically the main church in the city, where funerals of famous city residents have taken place.

This is not a cathedral, but I think it ought to be. If not on religious grounds, then for the respect of the city.

On a dark grey day the windows lightened my mood. So beautiful and poignant.

Bees and holly

I’m doing a few more pictures now. The yellow Bee on a yellow flower needs refining, I might make the centre of the flower a bit more orange or gold. The Holly was a bit of an experiment. The background is quite abstract. I might paint a banner across it saying Holly and Ivy, and add some Ivy scrambling up through the Holly plant. Or I might just brighten the Holly berries. Not sure…. More to follow.

Rushing by…

_20191002_184359_optimizedOver the hills,

Rushing by,

Stony landscape, see it fly.

Fences blurred, ground so grand.

Limestone cliffs across the land.

Sheep and birds, flocks and herds,

Many miles across we sped,

Down to sea the river led.

Craggy hills round Snowdon lie,

Reaching up into the sky.

Grey clouds scudded on breeze up high.

Rushing wind makes me cry,

As the weather bites, cold again,

Then it comes on to rain.

End of journey, time to rest.

A drink of tea or coffee, best?

A sweet hot cake, a refreshing drink.

Then into bed, in sleep, to sink.

Sent from my

Bed and breakfast

I don’t know if

I like looking at clouds

Sent from the old one

But you said no

I like it when you say that

It’s renound for the first time

This is what you mean

Cats are all a bit of a cold

I don’t know how

to waste your time

This cats will never

be able to help

Next week.

I’ve barely been here this week.

First a fall and then a cold, I’ve not really done much blogging over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been resting and sitting and staring. Looking at canvases and thinking what I should do. I’ve got a craft fair coming up and I need to do some basically Christmassy art, but I don’t know what to do. I don’t really do cute and my mind feels befuddled. At least I’ve got more than a week to go to the big one. But will I get some cards printed. I’m going to have to push myself as soon as I feel better. The digital drawing illustrating this piece pretty much sums up how I feel.
