Part painted panto hat
This was used as a prop in the local village hall pantomime a few years ago. The hat was a large teacup and saucer made out of wire and paper and glue. Once it was made I had the task of painting it with a classic spode pattern of Greek or roman figures. I might have some more photos somewhere, but this gives you an idea of what I was painting. It was held in place on the panto dames head with a big blue ribbon and bow. I miss rehearsals for the yearly panto. It was restored about ten years ago after several years absence. The largest ausiencevwe had was 180, and we do four performances over Thursday, Friday and two on a Saturday. I miss the stage fright and the fun. We used to do the performances in February to coincide with the school half term.

2014 Angel
Before I got a drawing tablet for my computer I used to draw with a mouse. This drawing was put on Facebook in 2014, but I’m sure I had a wacom tablet by then. I actually think it’s around ten years older and that I saved this image on one of the numerous times my hard drive went down. The picture must have been drawn on a basic program, but I can’t remember which. I know it’s a mouse drawing because of the wobbly lines…… I still like it…
Acrosstick
Esther Chilton, who has a blog at WordPress, challenges us to write things to prompts. On a Monday it’s a limerick using a particular word (this week it was ‘Santa’ ) and then on a Thursday its telling a story in five words. The prompt today was ‘presents’.
I wrote these eight lines and included an eight letter word using the first letter of each line, just for fun.

Merry Christmas
Almost there
Three year old digital drawing. Dots and swirls! The closest to a tree I will have this year. The cats climbed up the last one so I’m not risking my old glass baubles. Plus my cats are bigger this year and with three instead of two… Disaster would be bound to occur.
Did I ever mention the Christmas eve my husband tripped over after too much beer and snapped the tree in half? About twenty years ago. I stayed up and tied it together with tinsel, rehung the baubles and but the lights back on it. When he got up in the morning he thought he had dreamt it happening!
Colouring book
My hubby has his own unique way of colouring in colouring books. It’s his style, not necessarily keeping in the lines. But he gets a lot of pleasure from it. It calms him down. Makes time fly. There might be more simple ways of doing it, but this is his art. And it helps him to relax. X
Books
Today’s sketch of one of our bookcases. I’m too short sighted to see it well… For #bandofsketchers prompt: books.
Two other artists posted photos of their bookcases, we all have appear to be bibliophiles, with large collections of books. I’m glad, I don’t understand how you can go without them. Yes you can buy them online. But there’s nothing like a real book in your hand…. And I can say from experience that if you drop a book on the bath it dries out better than a phone!
Wet carolling
We went out and sang upon our local church green tonight. All of us in masks. We each had a space marked with a CD on the ground. We sang four songs, Good King Wensceslas, Ye Shepherds arise, While Shepherds watched their flocks by night (Cranbrook version) and the St Day Carol (now the Holly bears the Berry…).
There were about seventeen of us getting very wet, but it was great to sing in harmony with people. We didn’t have an audience. But it was great fun.

Outside cat update.
You know that feeling when you might be being taken advantage of? The outside cat came in at about 6pm. Had a meal, a good drink, then popped upstairs to sleep on our bed. Now, 11.30pm, he’s come down, come and looked at us for a minute in the living room, gone off, had a drink, then waited by the back door to be let out.
Cats, they really do have humans under their claws! I’m supplying bed, breakfast and an evening meal. I do think he’s getting more social, but he’s got the best side of the deal!
Doodles from three years ago…
These were on my memories from three years ago so I thought I would share them. Yet again a combination of doodling and filters. Probably drawn with a stylus. Using Sketch, sketcher free and ArtRage oils. I like drawing faces in profile.
I’ve found I usually draw left facing profiles for faces and animals. In this case I’ve switched a couple of them round to see how it changes the image. Is it something to do with if you are left or right handed? I don’t know.
